Most of us here can only really dream of being Starcraft II pros. The reality is, there are very few, and to get to that level takes more than hard work.
But pretend with me for a second that you did make it. You are about to walk up onto the MLG Stage and MLG now has player introduction music, such as baseball, boxing, etc. What would your introduction music be? What do you think the top pros would pick for intro music?
If anyone has ever seen the movie "The Fighter" you would know exactly what I am talking about. That movie gets my adrenaline pumping and in turn, my brain associates this song with that movie.
Ehh I would have to go with Hammer Smashed Face listened to it again and it just has to be the best song to walk out to ever. That intro is just so heavy the vocals are godlike it stays heavy through 90% of the song so it could be started anywhere. I would probably start at the intro and skip a little to the vocals. I would just be so damn pumped hearing that when I'm about to play a game, nothing better then playing a game while pumped that is for damn sure.
I'm not sure most likely this because it sounds badass and is funny as hell.
Walking out to Rompeprop would be awesome as nothing like a good Goregrind song to pump me up to play Starcraft. This one has the vocals I love and a bit of comedy so its a great choice in my opinion.
If I lose a game, ill be calmed by the soothing flow of this song If I want some determination, i'll listen to this song. If I want to calm my mind to think in a game, i'll listen to this song.
Although I want to say someone at the NASL season 1 finals already did claim it, but I can't remember. Plus someone mentioned Temp0's "All I Do is Stim" song, so close enough I guess.
I'd probably be teamless so... <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/uKZd4U397M4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I don't get why the embed doesn't work :D so here is a link:

Theres no shame, everyone remember songs from their childhood (if they had any).

Yea this would do, mainly because of the opening words. Would've picked Follow The Signs though.
my favorite intro songs, always gets me pumped up at sporting events. Pretty much only the beginning parts for both, as the intro wouldn't take too long.
rofl, this being the first response made my day! i guess it doesn't get much more epic than that :D
I don't really know which song i'd use, there are so many awesome songs that fit the situation. Conquest of Paradise, Ride Of The Valkyries and Final Countdown are definitely great choices.
maybe this one, since it's probably my all time favourite song:
This song is my song, its where my gamertag comes from ^_^ I've just had to shorten it for starcraft since bnet 2.0 doesn't allow us to use words like "god" in our ID
Stand up, load up, and fire away now If you think you've got a chance take a shot now I've got a, a bullet, with your name on If you think you've got a chance take a shot son You brought a knife to a gunfight So fuck you
Stone Gods were awesome in general but this song is just too fitting^^ Was thinking about Running Wild or Alestorm though, both pretty powerful.
As much as I like this, I can't really picture someone going up onto the stage with this playing...
mmm. i know what youre saying, but i dont think an intro song needs to be necessarily fast or rockish or whatever. a slow piano intro along with other parts of the song i think would be unique for an intro song. it would bring terror to my opponents
I'd have to go with "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin. Seriously bad-ass song, especially when it reaches its crescendo around 2:40. I've always been a sucker for Led Zeppelin, and the sound they make with that echoing drum in this song is like no other in terms of badassery.
We give it all, now there's a reason why I sing, So give it all, and it's these reasons that belong to me Today I offer all myself to this I'm living for my dying wish, I give it all, now there's a reason, there's a reason, to give it all.
Plug me in I'm alive tonight Out on the streets again Tune me on I'm too hot to stop Something you'll never forget Take my fist Break down walls I'm on top tonight
[Pre Chorus] No, no You better turn me loose You better set me free
Cause I'm hot, young, running free A little bit better than I use to be
[Chorus] Cause I'm alive Live Wire Cause I'm alive I'm a Live Wire Cause I'm alive Live Wire Cause I'm alive I'm a Live Wire
I'll either break her face Or take down her legs Get my ways at will Go for the throat Never let loose Goin' in for the kill Take my fist Break down walls I'm on top tonight
Without a doubt - 'dat intro. The lights going off, and letting the intro with the bells play and then walking out when the guitar first comes in... Eppppiiiicccc!
"Party people in the place to be put your hands in the sky if your barely gettin by."
If i made it to that level this would definitely be my choice for an intro song. It would be a reminder to myself of how i am currently barely gettin by, and proof to my parents that all of the time and money spent on my PC/internet was actually worth it now that I'm making a living off of it.
Plus the song is dope as hell and makes me feel (insert indescribable feeling here).
It has everything. The 'first 3 seconds' factor so you know who is coming out, Maven isn't a well known wrestler, so most people watching SC2 would associate the song with me, and I'd get some insane pops coming out if I was a popular or well-known pro.
If I can't use something already used by a wrestler, I have a back-up plan.
Player intro music is lame. It seems like some pretentious expression of "yeah this music represents what I am/how I feel as a player because it's awesome and I'm similarly awesome to it."

I take it you're not a wrestling fan? Anyway, um, yeah. That's the whole point.
WTF no one posted this yet??? or am i just too korean or something...?
No, no sir this thread simply can't handle that level of awesome. Here, we are posting generic songs we enjoy listening to, whether they make sense as an intro song, or not.
You, you magnificant bastard, have rose above that base urge to just post SNSD and have reminded us of what badassery sounds like.

Even in UFC I think the intro music is pretty cool.
Anderson Silva: DMX Frankie Edgar: Notorious B.I.G Jon Jones: Jay Z - Empire State of Mind his home state New York when he beat Shogun Shogun: Sail by Armin Van Buuren Faber: California Love Wanderlei Silva: Sandstorm - Darude
haha if I was actually a pro (never) in Starcraft, UFC or whatever organization my music would be this:

pretty much this.
though i still like my suggestion but with the improvement of calling myself liquid.ocelot and having my arm surgically transplanted onto nestea.
I always appreciate over-the-top YEAHHHHHH intro songs, so this would probably be mine
with this as an alternative if I'm not in the mood for those sort of songs (minus the last part of course. or maybe it can be played after I lose lol):
No pro's have their own theme/intro music yet (as much as I'd like to see that happen, hell MLG never plays copyrighted music for a reason but if we could surpass that I would think the following music would fit certain players!)
I like you. One of my favorite songs by an awesome band! Sorry for getting slightly offtopic but have you ever seen them live? I'm thinking about seeing them in December but the few youtube videos of live performances i've seen gave me the impression that they can't live up to their studio performance...

This is edging a bit more towards what I'd consider good intro music. Although it's cool to have epic intro music, or music from a boss fight or something pump-it-up, really you want the kind of music that could lead to truly baller entrances. The kind of intro music that FBH would have. Intro music like LMFAO - I'm Sexy and I Know It. Could you imagine walking in to that music? Baller. As. Hell.
If i were to walk in i'd probably have them play bright lights - matchbox 20, but not the beginning since i'd probably only have about 20 seconds, it would be the 2:25 mark to the 2:45 mark with some kind of a hand motion on god sakes turn around.
Why is no one explaining why they chose their song? It said to explain why in the OP. I would like to read some reasons on why the song is their pick instead of scrolling through textless videos....
I think epic soundtracks like the Battlefield 1945 OST and the Skyrim Main theme or a remixed version of Star Wars Episode 1's "The Droid Invasion and the appearence of Darth Maul".
But I probably would end up with
Heard it in GSL July and can't forget it ever since.
I actually can't post youtube links from here T_T I will edit this tomorrow with the clip I want, but it would definitely be 'Around the Fur' by the Deftones.
Probably either one of these, would be my choice. I think in order for this to make any sense, I'd have to make chargelots every game though, but thats okay since they're good units ^^.
Bringing back Open Season 1 of the GSL. For me this song is all about the excitement of the SC2 pro-scene when it was first released. Bring back some of that epicness of said season.

If I wanted to torture people (unless they like the song), I would make them play the entirety of "White Walls" by Between the Buried and Me before I would leave the stage. Just cause it is a good, long song.
Honestly, I'd make my intro "your going down" by Sick Puppies.
But i mean...having it be dead quiet when you walk into your booth, as the whole crowd just watches you, and then goes crazy when your in the booth, seems so pro.
I can't decide to be honest ... It would be either Michael Jackson - Beat It or Michael Jackson - Thriller or Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal or Falco - Rock me Amadeus
I will slowly make my way into the stage, then I'll wink the audience+casters and finally, I'll slowly walk into the booth, sit and stare at the camera in a sexy way.
I am awe that nobody has mentioned these yet. My opponent's gonna lose the moment I walk in!
A bit lulzy, but still awesome. I'd need a whole gang for this to look badass. For best representation listen til 0:45 For something more serious check the two below, in the first spoiler.

in quake world when the communities bongwa won a tourney the admin asked him to switch games cos he was pwning too hard but he said "i aint goin nowhere" so to continue that note id play
Because they want to be original. Entrance music should be something people remember you for when they hear that music, but they'd think Stone Cold, not the player.
But TT1 didn't care about that part, apparently. Sure, it was epic and funny but entrance music should be special.
EDIT: Not that it matters in this case, this is a one-time thing, if they were choosing entrance music for long term periods then being unique and special would be important.

Damn, that is a great pick. I instantly thought of "The Fighter" when I clicked on the spoiler tag.
I might toss this randomly into my playlist just to fuck with my stream viewers. If you have no idea why I said that, you did not click on the link.
As for my theme song/intro music, I would have to go
with this. Why?
Because it's an amazing song
So that MLG has to censor it... excessively
To introduce the fact that I will cuss a lot on my stream, so I want to scare away all the pop faggots who are watching. Not that I'm a homophobe, because I'm not. It's just an expression.

The explain why has worked about as much as asking Naniwa a question. "it's good".
so many good choices around here rage - drop dead = fbh pwnage i guess nujabes <3 was expecting to see at least a couple of inner circle - bad boys i'd go with:

You sir win this thread. They actually play this song and clips of Top Gun on the one air craft carrier in San Diego you can tour. After getting psyched up from that song and clips, my brother and I proceeded to break the flight simulator. And since it broke, we got a free ride when they fixed it. Good times.
This is a difficult question. So many choices.
The middle school basketball player inside me forces me to list this, Eminem - Lose Yourself: + Show Spoiler +
Then we got the one when I am feeling cocky, B.o.B. - I Am The Champion + Show Spoiler +
This one, man just reminds me of the 100,000+ people chanting it at football games, The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army + Show Spoiler +
If I'm making a comeback, Lupe Fiasco - The Emperor's Soundtrack + Show Spoiler +
Just because I like the music, blink-182 - Stockholm Syndrome + Show Spoiler +
And I will close it out with this, Travis Barker - Misfits ft. Steve Aoki + Show Spoiler +
This is perfect, 10 sec intro and then you come out. When you come out lyrics about how you can become good at anything as long as you put your mind to it starts.
I would also like Cochise by Audioslave but the intro part is to long.
I (along with another player) would start on the stage in the darkness. As the Pac Man noise begins to play, the spotlight will shine upon us, both holding keyboards as if they were guitars, like in this video and we will begin basically APM spamming to the tune of the solo, perfectly parodying the music video, then just play through the rest of the song, either that or cut it off at the end of the solo and enter the booth, to an audience that will either cheer or be like "What the fuck did we just see?"
2)
I would walk on as the guitar riff at the beginning with a keyboard in hand and once again try to "tap synch" with the solo using the keyboard playing it as if it were a guitar. The song would cut off at the end of the MM2 intro part.
NOTE: This is the instrumental version of Duane and BrandO's Mega Man II rap. I would use that version.
3)
I will walk on as "Gentlemen, I give you the future" plays at the start, dressed as a robot, and dance exactly like the Android robot guy did in this video.
4)
I would once again walk on with a keyboard in hand and attempt to play it as if it were a guitar to the tune of the intro and leading up to the end of the first chorus.
