Haha it's only a matter of time before Code S becomes Code G! if you get my drift

(the lol was at her Age)
If this (maRie (Sc2 ranks)) is her then she's pretty good, mid-high master in Korea is no small feat. Though not enough to qualify for Code A
FRom personal experience, her rank is about equal to top 100 in masters (top 300 in NA overall). Decent, probably 12 or so months before she can seriously contend for Code A.
while i do agree this is an awesome move, i don't know why more females aren't taking the opportunity to do this. i definitely think there's far more benefit of being a female in any e-sports scene, i mean look at the slayer's eve fan club, no one has even seen her play and yet she already has one. the publicity that females get will definitely generate them great sponsors and will somewhat be an advantage so if you're a female and you're on the fence, you should definitely try. the bar is definitely set lower in terms of standards due to the lack of them. i hope no one takes this post as being sexist but rather how the situation is currently atm.

Although JongMi could be the exception..
The same way foreigners would never beat Koreans at any legitimate tournament, right? I mean that was the universal truth a few months ago.
Stop spouting bullshit.
GL to her!
Agree. There is no inherent biological advantage for males in gaming. Cultural and societal pressures make it seem like girls are "worse" than guys at games because so few of them play SC let alone pursue pro-gaming. The cold hard fact is she is high masters in Korea, something many foreigner pros would struggle to attain. It's pretty exciting to see SC2 generating a healthy female player base.
Are you serious? Does gaming not require reflexes, focused vision as opposed to peripheral vision, killer instinct, all systemically evolved into the male genome and out of the female genome in favor of other traits which I don't want to go into here, over millions of years?
Biology <> Preconceptions. Get over it.
Please explain the relationship of "focused vision" and "killer instinct" to starcraft skill.

That's an interesting twist. Previous experience as a pro + age will probably be a boon and she'll do a lot better than people expect. Not expecting a code A qualifcation any time soon, but perhaps she will beat some well-known players in code b.

Being the only girl in a house full of guys where privacy is hard to come by isn't really ideal. Still, the practice would be beyond beneficial. I still hope she gets to live in her own place or something.
I very highly doubt that she practices in the team house, since she would be the only woman & 31 years old. She'll practice at home as many players do.
Iirc, one of the reasons Zenio left OGS was because it is a requirement to train in the house UNLESS you have a good reason like studying for school/university like Nada.
i wonder if one of the reasons why she decided to come back to progaming is because sc2 has shown that older players can still dominate unlike in BW
if so, her passion must be quite strong so we can probably expect her in Code A sometime Though a lot of the Code S/A players got knocked down... lol (like hongun, ensnare, etc.)
If you saw the code B tourny then pretty much everyone notable got back into GSL, the rest are no namers that don't seem to be good
