Anyway, congrats to her.
What does that even mean

I'm wondering if it would be unthinkable for a team to sign up a male of comparable skill. It's almost like the Divina cup was reduced in prestige now that the winner scored a place in a team.

Teams can sign whoever they want. If they want to sign a bronze player for some reason it's their business not ours

GL Aphrodite - hope you train, improve, and bring sweet sweet terran beat downs to your foes.
As to the rest of the thread... You wonder why females may be less inclined to want to become progamers? Read back through the thread... a lot of the negatives are quite apparent. (Focus on appearance, belief that appearance for female gamers is better than skill, disbelief that a female's skill could be the primary factor, and then the normal claims about skill by people she could probably beat most of the time on the ladder.) And if a female is both attractive and wants to be a progamer? Imagine the reaction when she tries to navigate the open bracket pits at an MLG - "Hey, you're Rainbow's girlfriend?! Lucky!" And of course dodging the nerd drool from people that want to put her on a pedestal because she is both a female and a SC2 player. It's not exactly a welcoming environment, because it's always about someone being a woman first, and any potential skill or gaming ability second. Let's wait and see how she performs - and I hope ST does help her improve and lets her compete.
Oh, and Huk said back a few pages that he thinks she can play. Not a bad endorsement. Let's see what comes next.
(And have to say, about the keyboards - is anyone really surprised a guy named Rainbow is using a hot pink keyboard? Obviously your narrow views on proper gender color schemes don't matter to him. He just fights on and lets the haters hate while he's busy playing.)

Also, she's actually attractive. Ah I couldn't ignore this post. How did she 'earn' the spot. She won a female masters level tournament. Everyone on ST is grandmaster level. She won't be used competitively, its the exact same thing as Eve. A tie to the team (girlfriend of rainbow, Eve mentored by Boxers GF), plus a result in a female tourney. It isn't like she won a major tourney.
I couldn't ignore this, she won a tournemant unlike her counterpart Eve. It's a masters level tournament, that's not too bad considering she's just starting out.

One also has to mention that one player at the tournament was grandmaster (Colagirl) and Aphrodite won against her.

User was temp banned for this post. You've just made the fatal mistake of not white-knighting. He made the same mistake as you are doing now. Learn to read the OP.
I did.

Teams can hire who they want.. Incontrol is a more valuable member to EG than Axslav even though their results are pretty similar..
