Hello,
My name is nGƺePisode and one of my hobbies include programming. I am an avid stream view and watching soebodies stream discovered a little program called 'Starinfo' which wasn't available to the public.
On these basis, I decided to create my own in-game popup which shows my opponents statistics and thus SC2PS (SC2 Player Search) was born.
It has taken me 3 long days to get to the point where I am happy enough to release for alpha testing. The finished produce will have the ability to shout to stream chat channels displaying the rank/data just like 'Starinfo'. It will also go one step beyond by having available chat commands to it also where your streamers can view opponent information on request.
The reason I am releasing it now is because my ability to test can only go to a certain extent due to my region and access to other computers.
Known Bugs - Point retrieval is not working (this is an easy remedy however).

you sure it's legal with Blizzard terms?
Well, I don't see how this could help anyone as I don't really care if their higher/lower than me I'm just going to play the same. But it is interesting; I could see it being used for 1v1 Obs when you really have no idea what rank anyone is. But same as before it won't change anything except maybe you skipping the join in.
So what idea did you have for creating this program?; Why did you make it is what I'm attempting to say,
As long as it doesn't reveal character codes I think it's perfectly legal.
I made it for the use of streamers and also because I myself like to know what rank my opponent is without actually alt+tabbing and searching sc2ranks.com
Shit reminds me of the old sc1 days typing /stats chanmanx/etc.
This is actually really useful, I would love for streamers to use this. Many times I look away from a stream when nothing is happening, and I'll miss the 'player vs player' screen and will have no idea who the streamer I'm watching is playing. It's a quality of life thing, I like it

Seems pretty cool though, gonna give it a try tonight.

I really wish some of these things could get "passed" by Blizzard to make sure they are okay to use. Because this looks sick as #$%*.
Does the pop-up remain throughout the game? Can it be minimized or can you change the size/location?
You can change its location. If you see on the main form, there is a button next to the checkbox. Click on that, move it where you want then close that form.
The window currently only shows for a certain ammount of time then automatically closes.
Are you going to release the source code for this?
It keeps saying not logged in.
How to fix that?
I am on sea server
This is awesome, definitely going to try it out.
The login detection was something I was afraid wouldn't work and may have to remove that and put a textbox to put your username. This is something I can change in the next alpha
maybe it can show ur opponents race too? otherwise great work!
I can show opponents favourite race but I am against getting that from the game because what if your opponent randomed?
I actually like the idea of this, because in an obs game, sometimes you watch someone and wonder if they made a decision based on a high masters knowledge or a silver knowledge. It becomes clear after a little while, but still, there are times where it could help.

This is what I meant by favourite - sorry.

I think he means current race (in that game). If thats the case, you should be able to get that info somehow, since it's viewable to the player (by clicking on the alliances button)
Also the link to dl doesnt work.
Quite a neat programme. Are you planning to allow more settings? I'm thinking a txt file where we could set custom dimensions (cropping) and duration of display or maybe some others.
This is really cool. May I add a suggestion? You should add how many bonus pool the opponent has.
this isnt working for me, cant detect if logged in or not
hmm...this is a "on the border" kind of app as far as blizzard getting annoyed. Reason being is that it hooks to the game's process and reads from it. So it directly interacts with the game's memory space. It doesn't do anything evil to it, but that's a fine line with blizzard....
just sayin'
idk how it would be. Youre not getting anything from it other than how good they are on average. no build orders, nothing.

Can someone explain me the difference between this thing and StarInfo (made by R1CH) please ?I guess they use the same mechanics. It means StarInfo is "bannable" too?I'm a noob in this kind of programs !
Dang thats unfortunate, this would be fantastic..
If StarInfo gets the green light then so does this, don't worry. What we should worry about is the author not updating this cool app
Its the same old 3rd party program thingy but if this neat app uses sc2ranks as its base i dont think blizzard can detect it and its not really bannable imo. Just the usual "we want to control sc2, no 3rd party programs allowed yallhyallah"

I never understood why people can have add-ons and such in WoW which with out a doubt can give you a huge advantage but they get all butt hurt if you makea program for SC2 that hardly if at all gives you an advantage.
But hey its Blizzard (No slander to blizzard intended.)
Yeah can somebody reupload this please?
Wow. Nice dude.
This is actually really nice. But you could also put in their last ten games or something to check for smurfs.
Make it open source pls! I need to know how are you getting the information, if by reading some file or listening to some port via TCP or UDP.

Because WoW isn't an ESport. SC2 is.
