I think it was more a defense of his team than Gus. Also ziek is a player, not an admin member. A lot of Gus's staff (particularly on the admin side) have come out against Gus. I'm too lazy to find the specific posts.

It's so sad that we the staff, did our best to make things work out, and the spotlight for hate is turned to us. On the first day of the event, Gus was nowhere to be found. He arrived late on the event. And it was a great thing Torch was there. With this incident, we sincerely apologize, we can't do anything about it even if we wanted to make it happen, GUS wouldn't allow us, he just insisted NO and that we should push through the SC2 Tournament. We, his own staff members also feel that we got scammed for being not being paid (or even given the budget for food and drinks) and on behalf of my team, we are really frustrated, tired and disappointed at his leadership. When he arrived late at the venue, he doesn't seem to be on the right mind to lead us. So on behalf of our staff team, we are very sorry to provide you a lack-luster tournament. Thank you to those people who stepped up and lead the way, and we are very thankful to have Torch on our team that time. Even us staff members are puzzled and looking for answers to what the fuck happen to the funds, I see a lot of things, heard a lot of things, UNNECESSARY THINGS that he has been spending on. /rantoff

I never quite understand the radio-silence by Team AZK. Since the initial set of AZK members who complained about Gus, nothing had came out from the team. You'd imagine the clan or team admins, minus Gus, will at least attempt to salvage their name by seperating their position than Gus'.
However, not only nothing official came out, the guys that talked before stopped as well. Is AZK dead? Are they hoping that everyone will just forget what happen?

Ziek is very much the deezer/combat-ex of the sc2 community, I wouldn't pay much attention to anything he says. He's just another reason why team AZK has such a bad reputation in the sc2 scene

I don't think so since things are still unresolved. TheGunrun is still out of a nice chunk of cash, no one knows whats going to happen to the travel agency lady who still owes a ton of cash and Gus still hasn't responded to any of the accusations against him. Closing the thread and sweeping it under the rug shouldn't happen until at least some of the above is fixed, even though there really is no new information at the moment. Hopefully djWheat & Slasher really push trying to get him on Lo3 to answer for some of this.

1. amanda's travel agency costs (500k) - originally 715k, 215k paid on the friday after ppsl
2. justin thegunrun's cover cost (40k) for former team member clive that signed hotel bills for gus
3. my streaming production cost (50k) - i had a verbal agreement to get paid 50% on or before the ppsl
4. the a/v guys he owes (12k) extra - gus paid them 90k for the ppsl - i talked with them on the phone
5. tastetosis (350k) - about 2.5k USD each
6. rachel quirico? / allyn hoang?
7. AZK crew promised wages...
8. lost Razer gear... something like 39/50 headsets recovered, 40~/50 keyboards / mice each how will he cover it?
9. S2 games official statement if they did send 2k USD
10. the ruling on whether or not eg. YJY and team cube has legal say on receiving free tickets if they were legally contracted to have them due to notarized tournament rules (honestly seeing these guys get 'monetary compensation' legally is a longer shot unless there was a contract given to either DOX/CUBE on the matter, hell even my production costs aren't legally chase-able, except for a plea on mass-witness accounts of gus/azk's accountability)
at this point we don't care about what happened anymore, but how to resolve the costs involved or at least account for it properly. (for the eSports damage caused: tbh, it's not much on the PH scene nor the sea scene, my take is it actually created stimuli to an economic extent)
i'm assuming gus' options are the following
A. SET A PAYMENT SCHEDULE and maybe apologize properly
B. SET A PAYMENT SCHEDULE and not apologize
C. GATHER LAWYERS to increase his options/chances for removing liability for payment
D. GATHER LAWYERS to sue AZK underlings for mismanagement if he did through contract assign people with tasks to run the event and remove his liability
E. RUN? WHERE? he's got a family to feed, it's either fight or man-up and start a debt payment plan or sponsor bail-out program
we just want concrete answers.
