I'd much rather a $14,000 prize pool and just $200 each show match. You are not playing the tournament and I'm pretty sure the players would prefer a more even distribution and more chances at money. The prizepool and its distribution should not matter to spectators. Obviously I'm not playing the tournament. The prize pool is obviously a matter to spectators. Production value matters, of course, but a $100,000 has more on the line than, say, a $1000 tournament and to me, the common spectator who I guess you guys are trying to appeal to, the higher the prize pool the higher the stakes, and the higher the excitement form e. If players prefer a more even distribution why don't you just give them $2000 each and let them play some games then be on their way? I know you want some exciting show matches but that's just how I feel.

Take a look at MLG, they give 5k$ to the winner and they still have great tournaments

"Why don't you just give everyone $2000 each", oh I dunno, maybe because money is a pretty fucking good motivation for competitive gaming?

Also, if you look at how the tournament + showmatch ended.. $7k for Idra $3k for SeleCT $2k for White-Ra $1k for Dimaga, Elfi and SjoW. Only Huk and Ret went home without prize money. When it comes to prize distribution in tournaments... that's pretty good!
