It does seem like most of the big tournaments are obviously legit, but a governing body would really help timely payments. I mean right now you need to contact every single player to get a comprehensive picture of the situation

He never said he didn't expect it, but he just said he hasn't been paid yet. So, you made a public statement reassuring him that he will be paid. That is where you defend yourself. You're defending yourself from the negative publicity that is connected with "I HAVENT BEEN PAID YET" That's not actually true, cloud said he hadn't been contacted about payment info yet which made him concerned, not that they were late or hadn't paid (it was only a few days ago keep in mind). From the admin's statements they had his paypal details already, so it's a little bit of a non-issue, he just wanted to make sure people weren't jumping to conclusions.

If anything he's making a statement to agree that there is a problem if organizations take this long or dont pay and explains how they do it. Fine, don't call it defending themselves. It's still Corporate Responsibility.

Sounds like most of the NA tournaments are pretty good (IPL, MLG, NASL) but sometimes random mistakes happen and people might not get paid, and it'll be worked out.

If players don't receive the money within 3 months, your tournaments are no longer displayed on the sidebar of TL. Good luck getting viewers for your ads then.

seems like all their events even the big EPS etc not pay for long time have to be a bigger thing its one of the biggest or THE biggest europe esport organisation and rotterdam etc working for them so if they act like this i feel like 1 or 2 boykot of their tournaments would perhaps help (the big tournaments and then 99% of the pros boykott)

I feel like the best action for viewers and fans at the moment. Is to try to get as much information as possible, about the events that have not payed up in a decent time. With genuine sources and facts. And boycott that tournament/event. I realize that this might also hurt the players because of the viewers will lower, the sponsors dont get as much attention as they want, and tournament gets a bad reputation. But this really cannot go on. not only for the sake of the players, but who would watch a tournament where you know that the admins are total douchebags? and they might not pay your favorite player if he actually wins the tournament. Does the player not deserve any recognition other than a "high five you wun!" After reading this thread, it has definately changed my hole perspective of ESL and others not paying up the money they OWE Yes it might get delayed. But the most important thing for a player is 1) Get his accomplishments out there 2) Gain fans ( So sponsors would want a percentage of the fanbase (viewers) 3) Get the prize money they deserve I'm sure there are more points to this, but as i've just read this thread. And did not know this was going on. I'm sure players can enlighten us tho. I'm sorry if this sounds abit biased. But after hearing all this. And the companies not really giving a crap about telling the players whats going on with their honest paydays. I'm very upset. What do you say Esport fans? Would you boicott the tournaments responsible, given the fact that all this is true?
