surely that would just result in bw people all saying i told you so. Im sure jinro himself would admit that as a starcraft player in general he is nowhere near the level of flash (thats not an insult) and any scenario where jinro beat a well practiced flash would just prove sc2 has a lower skill ceiling?

If this many players switch it can only be bad for brood war and to see professional brood war die out would be awful. Id much rather have slightly worse sc2 top pros than have no top level bw to watch at all I think you're seeing it too negatively. I think it will make the sc2 scene much more serious and professional and in a year or two im sure it will be as big as bw in korea and probably even more.

Part of me is sad that all these BW players are switching already. Part of me can't wait to see what people like Bisu will do to the SC2 scene. It can only help the SC2 scene, even if the skill ceiling is lower, we certainly are no where near that ceiling yet.
Honestly, I thought that BW would have a few good years in it at least (it still could for all I know), I wouldn't have expected most people to switch until the final expansion was out.
It's like when Boxer went into GSL...only there's 20 more of him. If these guys all started GSL in the same season, Code S would be completely changed by the next...

This is pretty exciting. I'm really curious to see if with enough practice the BW titans could take on MVP or nestea.

Plus, calling Midas second rate shows who the actual idiot is anyway.

EDIT: And anyone who does think that way should very seriously consider a different career.

I guess I should have worded it better. I'm sure with enough time they will get up to their level. I'm curious if with enough time they will rise above them to a whole new level, or if the SC2 stars such as nestea and mvp (almost unarguably the 2 best SC2 players) will still be at the top, but now with the BW titans as their equals.

Does anyone have the link to bisus sc2-profile?
|
I don't get it! If they changed their computers and practice sc2, they are definitely going to switch. I don't see them playing both bw and sc2, it would be really hard. But sc2 doesn't seem to take popularity from bw in Korea like at all! Then why would they switch?

sure, SOME players will probably fall, but others will continue to improve. more competition can only be a good thing for players who truly want to be the best. the BW players will no doubt be amazing, and having that many more people practicing and coming up with new strategies will only be a good thing for players who are serious about the game.

Horang2 was known as the second coming of Nal_rA
sKyHigh had a period of being the bane of Jaedong in proleague (floated proxy rax into main on Destination ace match <3),
Doctor.K was SKT captain once upon a time
Lucifer was one of the better P's on KT (l0l)
hero made a starleague final once (lost to JD iirc)
SoO was an SKT Zerg (if you know what that used to mean)
Everyone else is pretty unremarkable but I'd still mark them down as strong competition outside of BW (the same bracket as Nestea held)

gg. Any news with JD?

I guess the time for BW players to move over had to happen eventually. I dunno why the switch cause BW is still really popular in korea.

If all the BW pros start switching, then the sponsors switch, then eventually the viewers switch. SC2 might not ever reach the popularity that BW had at its peak in Korea, but the increased popularity in other regions should more than make up for that.

Skyhigh also was (is?) a beast at TvT which is probably the matchup that shares the most similarities between the games.
