Doctor.K was SKT captain once upon a time
Lucifer was one of the better P's on KT (l0l)
hero made a starleague final once (lost to JD iirc)
SoO was an SKT Zerg (if you know what that used to mean)
Everyone else is pretty unremarkable but I'd still mark them down as strong competition outside of BW (the same bracket as Nestea held)
You omitted Snow, Bogus and Hydra, who happen to be the strongest players on that list (of remaining players). ;o
Snow played an amazing series against Jaedong, almost winning it 3-2. Showed unparalleled harassment skills.
Bogus is the best player on STX and Hydra is a top 5 Zerg at least, if not top 3.
Also, please, don't talk about them in past tense. BW could very well live on in Korea. ;]

Wow even a list of names... this is getting pretty huge.

stop toying with me. this just got me so excited.

Thats a juicy list of players.. woah.
Many excite. Many excite.

I actually have a lot of respect for jinro for refusing the free code A spots hes been offered thru MLG or elsewhere (that I've heard of) and wanting to get into code A thru code B like the koreans have to.

Same. I realize he is slumping, and whether or not he'll be able to return to Code A/S we will see. I personally think that Thorzain/Nani would achieve that before him. But I like to believe in Jinro, even if I am being naive.

When is the next season of the BW leagues starting, when lineups/rosters are announced and stuff?
What timeframe are we talking about here until an official announcement (one way or the other)?
|
never has the phrase "shit just got real" been more appropriate =D

I'm preety mad right now. I wanted at least 1-2 years of BW epicness...... well its not like EVERYONE is switching right now ???

Proleague announcement is supposed to be this week sometime, in all likelihood.

What timeframe are we talking about here until an official announcement (one way or the other)? According to an MBC Game writer in a chat room the next Proleague is starting mid November, though there hasn't been any official announcement yet. SC2 is very unlikely to be in that proleague since it's too soon.

Ohh this is such a sad and crappy news for bw. Now they better make SC2 actually good game or all these pros switching will not be justified at all. I mean i have just watched NASL TT1 vs Puma game 1 and it was such a stupid bullshit that could never ever happen in bw. TT1 has the edge, is one base up all game, 2 balls of same size by unit count clash in the open area and TT1 loses everything while Puma loses like 30 supply. (yes one could argue if you run limit of protoss army into sieged terran in bw, you lose whole army and do zero damage but this was open and fair clash of units). Not even talking how not interesting it was to watch those 2 balls clash....whole game is building some kind of suspense and then the climax is ....... not existing. When you watched the limit armies take on each other in bw, that was the real holy shit moment.

Looks like Chill beat you to it. I was hoping he wouldn't get banned, so when you take a Code A spot again, his comeuppance would be that much better. But then again, can't leave garbage lying around.

Surprised that there are so many A-team players on the list, as I'd expected only the players who'd have difficulty finding teams for bw to switch over in all the chaos...but I suppose if kespa is laying the groundwork to get into sc2 it makes sense that several would be preparing.
Kind of mixed feelings about the whole thing, as it would be quite sad to see bw go after so many memories, but I'd be excited to see what the greats could do.
At the same time, I feel kinda bad for some of the amazing players that never got big recognition because they were overshadowed by the best players of all time, but I suppose that happens in all sports, heh.

It's a new world out there BW had it's time SC2 is here to stay and the sooner the entire community rallies behind this single game until the next huge thing comes out of course if there is to be such a thing, the better.

SC2 might not ever reach the popularity that BW had at its peak in Korea, but the increased popularity in other regions should more than make up for that.
I dunno. The korean BW community has shown that they stick up for their game even when other games come along that far surpass it in graphics and easy to learn gameplay. I can't say for sure how long us SC2 fans will be around to be quite honest. Imo they should definitely wait with the switch until a couple of years after 'what's it called in the void', and see if there's still big interest.

People really forget this is the forum of a team. A team called Liquid, they own this place, they can even put naked pictures of Justin Bieber if they want to, blatantly insulting the member of the team which owns this site must be one of the most idiotic moves in TL history.
