Maybe I should come shit up the BW forum complaining about graphics and other short comings, fortunately I have more respect for another games community then that. We like our game you like yours, shitting on ours isn't going to stop any progress in either direction and just makes you look stupid. Just adding fuel to the flames dude. I also dislike the fact that you call it "our game" claiming that people who like brood war better and complain about sc2's shortcomings do not enjoy sc2. Why can't we like both? By the way I really hate posts about scbw's graphics. If you want to criticize bw please do so in other ways other than graphics. Let me put it to you guys in a way that you can understand. Saying sc2 is better because of better graphics and AI is like saying Zelda: Windwaker is better than Zelda: Ocarina of Time because of improved ai and graphics. Similarly I'm tired of people bashing sc2 for its unit clumping. PEOPLE GET OVER THE WAY A GAME LOOKS. A GAME SHOULD BE JUDGED NOT BY THE COLOR OF ITS SKIN BUT BY THE CONTENT OF ITS CHARACTER. On November 01 2011 01:19 flanksteak wrote: After reading a bit of the thread, feels like this is a pretty unique problem to e-sports - it's like if you watch basketball and then a couple years later they release basketball 2, the sequel to the sport basketball, and add a 4 point line with higher nets and a wider court and change the size of the ball etc etc. I know there are rule changes in other sports (three point line didn't exist up until a year before I was born, lol), but they tend to happen slowly, and are rarely as drastic. Anyway, it's just not the same sport you watched, even if they are part of the same lineage. I know I'd personally just keep watching basketball if that was the sport I grew up with, particularly if I felt like the original sport provided better entertainment. It's more than just that. Many people in this forum complain about BW without acutally having fully delved into the experience. Having played and been an active spectator of both, I can fully say that BW has a more complicated metagame which results in more diversity in strategies and playstyles. Your comparison would be more valid if you were to say that they came out with basketball 2 and took out the 3 point line, made dunks worth 1 point, and made buckets worth 2. There would be an outrage if this happened. That being said most BW players on this forum make us as a whole look bad by flaming sc2 and all that its worth and could be worth in the future.

What I am assuming is the reason this screenshot is impressive is because they are real ID friends with their proper names. It would take a lot of work for someone to fake that many accounts. You would have to find people with the same name as the BW pro's you want to impersonate and then create bnet accounts using their KSSN.

Unless you can provide proper ladder records of possible smurfs/IDs on Bnet like the ones that were found for ForGG (Raptor and now oGsFin) long time ago, then this doesnt really prove much :D Sure some of the IDs linked in this thread have played a few games on ladder and are in masters league, but that hardly is evidence of them considering to play the game on a pro level.

It wouldn't surprise me if all BW progamers have at least played a couple of games of SC2 just to check it out. Also wouldn't surprise me if many of them had a personal account for their own personal reasons or maybe were given to them. Doesn't exactly prove anything besides the fact that they have at least registered an account :D Unless you can provide proper ladder records of possible smurfs/IDs on Bnet like the ones that were found for ForGG (Raptor and now oGsFin) long time ago, then this doesnt really prove much :D Sure some of the IDs linked in this thread have played a few games on ladder and are in masters league, but that hardly is evidence of them considering to play the game on a pro level. the two ids that i've seen linked (midas and hydra i think) have both been circa 100th ranking on the korean ladder so i would say at least some are playing the game seriously
