I used to have this like really badly when I was small, it's kinda fine now. I dislike looking at stuff like this and it does make me itch (stfu @ idiots who think this is not real and people only feel itchy due to op), but the swarm host does not and something like that would never not make me buy hots.

Random Question about Trypophobia:

Does it haveato clusters of holes to affect someone? Or does just one hole work? Like if you saw a manhole on the street that'd freak someone out?

Cuz I noticed in the video the first two or three pictures were of just one hole in the apples and stuff.

I have the same phobia and got a disturbing feeling from watching Browder's video on the Swarm Host. It's not funny, and it is serious and needs to be changed. Burrowed Banelings already gave me a slight uneasiness, but this is much worse.

My two cents:

People commenting on 'scary monsters' and 'insects' need better comprehension because it has shakeout nothing to do with that. It's the sight of clustered holes that sets it off and honestly it makes and skin crawl. There's a facade in Melbourne on one of the RMIT's buildings I think of half spheres on the side of the building and even that makes me feel slightly uncomfortable.

Now the real question is would I quit SC2 because of it? No way in hell. I'm even thinking of switching to Zerg because of the possibility of the Viper-Swarm Host combo. But I wouldn't mind Blizzard changing the animation of when the locusts pop out so my skin doesn't start feeling like it nerds to crawl to the sink every time I see it.

i felt queasy watching the swarm host in the videos, and this was before this thread was made. watching things come out of small holes makes me sick to the stomach, it's like a visceral response. i wouldn't mind if the artwork was unchanged though, maybe i'd be able to get over my slight phobia!

I've always thought that Blizzard should design a zerg unit that can trigger certain phobias. Trypophobia is a particularly good one because things with a lot of holes look really weird/alien/organic. Swarm host looks great, they should make the back part look even more detailed and organic.

My brother has trypophobia, and he says that the swarm host doesnt really make him feel bad. The worst is those lotus plants:

I don't have the phobia, but I sure would if I didn't avoid looking at all the disgusting shocker images on the internet. I was thoroughly disgusted when we watched a drug education video and it showed this girl who was addicted to crystal meth and thought that there were bugs inside her skin when she was high, and tore out holes all over her arm. The arm was rotting and the bone was starting to break apart.

There are people who have traumatic experiences from things like this, and because of the large amount of people, there should be an option to make the swarm host smooth at least.

Preferably, the swarm host will get a revision so that it is more of a defensive siege unit, and it doesn't shoot things out.

I guess blizzard did their job right when trying to make a disgusting zergy unit at least.

I think you should spoiler that image, even though it is just a plant. I don't have that phobia but it still creeps me out. I think it is because the image is so close up that is resembles flesh, and I think we can all agree that egg like things in drying out holes of flesh is enough to retch over.

Could we please post the phobia pictures in spoilers (that Lotus)? Think about it: those with this phobia are going to come here to discuss the issue. We'd rather have the option to subject ourselves to clustered hole pictures with a simple spoiler. Thanks.

I personally get very nauseous when playing Borderlands or Dead Island, which would be something that I would like fixed even though it doesn't effect most people. I'm not affected by the swarm host art, but I would totally support an art revision if there were enough people affected.

Forgive me my ignorance, but "this picture makes me feel itchy" does not classify for a phobia. Over an hour I failed to find a single medical source that was at least slightly scientific. I completely accept that certain images make some people feel uneasy, but that does not really classify a pathological illness.

I think I'm a trypophobiac. I can't look at trains coming out of tunnels, liquid coming out of bottles (glass or plastic), people getting out of cars, slow-motion videos of bullets exiting guns, and fans exiting sports arenas. These things make me sick to my stomach and I get an itching feeling all over my body. Please take me seriously as these are rational fears.
