I think that it's not a transformation but rather a Protoss art design trend. Like all Zerg buildings and units have some kind of spikes or claws incorporated in their design so you can imediately recognize something Zerg, Protoss also have certain aspects that make you acknowlegde a protoss unit or building only bylooking at it. The curved lines sometimes forming a claw shape are part from it. For terran I would say that the angular metal and mech approach defines the design. I would be inclined to agree, but this unit is pretty unprotoss like. Other than the phoenix, it doesn't really share features with other protoss units.

No matter what this thing is, I'm going to predict that it'll be a very good unit in countering Colossi, which will help PvP a lot .

definitely a harass unit for protoss. dts as harass are a joke !

i would go with the majority and say this looks mostly like a Toss caster air unit cant wait to find out what it is

Dark Templar designs have always been a bit more angular and agressive. Perhaps this is a DT air ship.

I'm just hoping they didn't have time for a redesign and just did some old unit that fit where they wanted. Hopefully they'll flesh it out like they did sentries.

Hm , really easy. Air to Ground only unit with a bonus against light.

Perhaps this is a DT air ship. Yes, but 'a bit' more angular doesn't mean zerg. Zeratul's stupid ship looks like the zerg logo. There should still be differentiation. Make it gray, fine, but at least have it look protoss.

It definitely flies, it can cloak for sure.
Flying gateway????

mm i think it is a unit meant to be good vs colossi
|
Looks a bit with the original phoenix while in super charge.

This must be a spell caster only thing protoss air is missing
this unit looks fast wouldnt be surprised if it was an anti-muta attack (but low damage to single units - like corsair)
im not sure what spells blizzard thinks toss needs.. imo we need some brute strength. we have plenty of spells

Protoss mutalisk, fast air unit. Air to ground only.
Wonder what they'll remove if it's an air unit. Void ray, prism, pheonix, mothership and carrier and this new thing.

I am guessing the voidray. It doesn't really fulfill its role as a main stay air unit.

There is atleast one thing we can all agree on...
