The OP says: "Who is the best player at this moment." Idra hasn't been performing well lately, whilst Stephano has been beasting it up defeating a lot of great koreans in a recent online tournament and is looking unstoppable on ladder with a 95% win rate in the last three days.

Though I agree, if the poll was based around results Idra would definitely be up there.

As much as I agree that Idra shouldn't be on this list, I feel as if Ret has been just as mediocre. Can anyone who follows the foreign scene closely tell me why Ret is still in the running?

I voted ThorZaiN. Mostly because he has given the most entertaining finals in a big event twice.

Also in my opinion he has the best TvP in the world

Stephano has achieved significantly less that 60% of people on that list, I have no idea how he has grabbed so many votes.

Its much like Naniwa became an instant fan when he went like 30+ Box's in a row without losing. Stephano recently shows alot of success on ladder and a few online cups, so attention has reverted to him. He will either start to dominate, or slip back into nothingness.

Its kinda like KAS. KAS was expected to be like a 'god' from alot of the EU community. He is def good, but got super overhyped and shit.

At that time Kas was probably the best TvT player in europe.
And stephano keeps kicking ass all over.. its getting pretty scary.

Edit: but I do agree he doesnt deserve the number one spot atm.

True, that the problem with this thread.
Because SC2 is Internation, different communities will name different people
Because SC2 is currently a top ESport, people will choose on the polls their
favorite instead of the actualy 'best' in terms of either 'talent' or 'results'.

Thorzain, Huk have to be the top 2, theres no denying it in terms of 'results'.
Fenix/Sase are in positions to show the world what they got, and could be new
'top players' soon.

Your correct about KAS, and i hope what I said doesn't belittle him. He is def top 3 EU Terran id say. He also took home some good monies on the SK Koth besting MC and winning the most.
The volatility of the game from month to month makes it extremely hard. I also mentioned stephano above and his raw talent. When these polls come into play, you cant tell if people
are voting for 'who could be the best' or 'who currently is best because of results'.

I agree right now that the people who seem to have the most raw 'talent' are not the ones who
are currently the 'top'. Next month they could be though
I am become death, for I am the destroyer of worlds.....You will be missed KT Violet!!!

IdrA, ret, kas, Sen, nor Huk have "done well" lately.

Their last results were all what, 2-3 months ago?

Then you have Stephano. Does ladder success or small EU bnet tourneys count as "Results"?

Stephano is probably the best Z vs T among the foreigners. Ret is pretty sick vs P. Dimaga and Sen are amazing at ZvZ. IdrA is pretty good at all of them when he is not getting owned by his mindset.

If it was "Who is your favorite progamer" maybe my answer would be different, but since its "Who is the best progamer" i don't know how anyone else could even be CONSIDERED other than Huk. Still the only foreigner to win lan events with koreans there right? Still the only foreigner to maintain a spot in Code S, something that a number of great Koreans can't do. Hes the clear and only choice.

No, Dimaga won Assembly.

wat Nada was the only Korean in attendance from what Liquipedia tells me, Koreans as in more than 1.

well...HSC3 had only one korean too, so the only tourney that counts is DH where he beat july&moon.

He demolished the EU Blizzard invitational. It didn't even look close to anyone beating him aside from when he went 5 hatch or whatever before lair against Naniwa.

I believe it's due to his strong performance in the Blizzard-invitational which he won.
Other than that he's flying pretty low under the radar.

because the question is "who do you think is the best foreigner?" and not who achieved the most.

Then the question isn't a good one.

The best foreigner of when? Last 2-3 months? Since release? Since last month?

At the moment.

I dont mind as much that people see Select as a foreigner, dont like the idea that he gets a American flag though. And if he does, Huk should be pretty close to getting a Korean flag. Jinro definatly has a korean flag and if Idra is back in korea for a month he should get a korean flag as well.

(dont you guys agree?)

you guys have no clue, i watch streams every day and I'll tell you now that the best player outside korea is either spanishiwa or destiny!

Pft, Deezer beats them both EZ.

Really though, I voted for Thorzain since he´s very consistant atm. However I dont think the game is nearly old enough to judge who is truly good. For instance, Idra plays terribly atm but was a god half a year ago. That´s half a year, do you understand how little time that is?

Ret looked amazing at the EU BlizzCon qualifiers. He defeated both ThorZaIN (ThorZaIN called it "rape" lol) and Naniwa and went on to win the tournament. It seems like if Ret's motivated enough he can beat almost anyone.

Just another pointless waste of a thread.

1. You don't have half as many people that should be up there.
2. You have people who will never reach that title so why they are up their is because of you.
3. Hundreds of these polls exist and accomplish nothing.
4. For everyone saying IdrA shouldn't be on that list your stupid, hes the best foreigner in the world with accomplishments and general skill level being unsurpassed by any one of those players. He's an American which will and always has made him a foreigner.

Huk still the best IMO, thorzain has yet to earn his stripes by showing he can even hang in Code A yet.

I understand huk is in a slump but almost all protosses are right now (though we'll see how much effect the patch has).
