I agree Huk should be number 1. But I understand why people voting Thorzain he did beat huk,Hero and had an epic final vs DRG at Dreamhack Valancia.
The only problem with Huk is he is so inconsistent l8tly

you acutally said it: 9 months ago.
thorzain recently stomped huk pretty hard... its not about overall results, its about recent strengh. Not saying huk isnt top 3 - he is, but what makes you believe he is #1 by far, when his results in foreign tours were not that impressive at all. Not talking about idra, when did he acutally come far into any tournament recently?

Althought I wouldnt pick White-ra, I am kinda surprised he isnt on there. Atm I would have to say Thorzain ... maybe stephano after IPL.
edit: typo

He's the worst player on that list, what's the problem?

WHITE-RA
This list is worthless without him.

Your criterias are pretty bad, if skill is only based on how far you'e made it in the GSL. Not to mention not worthy of a discussion at all, as it's already decided by definiton.

ehm... getting raped? he lost 1-2 and game 1 was the only true macro game which stephano won oO he def. deserves to be on that list... At hsc, he lost to MC, but 2-0d huk - and thats pretty long ago as well - stephano improved since then, idra the other way around

Why do these threads keep popping up?
Nobody on TL is going to give accurate results. They are going to vote for their favorite players and ignore actual skill. Thats why alot of posts are just 'why is whitera not on top, why is idra not on top, etc'.
My unbiased pov (naniwa fanboi and hero fanboi, dont care about many others):
If you look at results. Its going to go to Huk then Thorzain. If you want to somehow try and 'gauge' raw talent. Stephano/Ret/Idra/Sase/Fenix, they all show or have showed a very large amount of skill/potential that seems to be greater than alot of other players we have seen FPV of when they perform correctly. The problem is performing correctly and consistently.
I really feel that if the players i listed all had a 'naniwa' point of view on the game/life/getting better. That we could surpass Koreans.

He has tournaments where he has flashes of absolute brilliance and simply dominates, and then you have him trying 11 sentry timing attacks vZ.

It would be interesting how many people would vote for him, just because he is White-Ra ^_^

Select, idra and kiwikaki are the answers to your 3 questions.

He did crush Puma dominantly in one of their 3 games, and lost one because of a misclick.

No big tourney wins but Demuslim is definately pushing to be all over this list. All 3 of his matchups are now really strong (his TvZ has turned from horrific to very scary). At last MLG he took out Spanishiwa, Kawairice, Cruncher, TLO, Ret, Trickster and took a game off Nada. 2-0 in NASL now, taking out Sheth and Lowly 2-0.
Thorzain is still a favourite of mine as is Select. They should definately be there. Huk is the most succesful foreigner in GSL. Easy choice. Idra, right now, in his current form is very questionable. Compared to Stephano, Ret and Dimaga he's not looked on the same level recently. Hopeing he changes, Idra playing well is great to watch.
Kas? What? O.o
Mana has had some great results, Naniwa is full of potential. Sase still has to convince me.
Think Fenix might be creeping onto this list before too long. He's improved so much already and being on IM is only going to make him better.

Sen is definitely the best foreigner, guy is super sick.
|
If it was "Who is your favorite progamer" maybe my answer would be different, but since its "Who is the best progamer" i don't know how anyone else could even be CONSIDERED other than Huk. Still the only foreigner to win lan events with koreans there right? Still the only foreigner to maintain a spot in Code S, something that a number of great Koreans can't do. Hes the clear and only choice.

Overall Thorzain imo. (And Idra + White Ra)
It's hard to vote tho, Mana for example did not have many opportunities to showcase his skill, but he delivered when he had the chance. Huk is the most accomplished one but he doesn't always play well, Stephano is extremely promising but lacks results and so on. Naniwa is amazing aswell.
Thorzain, Huk, Stephano, Mana and Naniwa are really close imo. Sen should be up there aswell, but the last time I've seen him was NASL finals so I can't judge him atm. Thorzain is overall really solid, so my vote goes to him.

Stephano has achieved significantly less that 60% of people on that list, I have no idea how he has grabbed so many votes.
The fact that Ret is ranked so low is not only a travesty but a sign of how pointless best foreigner discussion is.

Voted HuK just because he has been by far the most notable foreigner in GSL for a fair while now. Ro8 in Code S and knocked out by MVP himself is quite respectable result.
Would like to see Sen in major tournaments more often.
