Huk's been Code S since he's been in Korea so long. Give Naniwa and Thorzain the same amount of time and I can bet they'd make Code S as well. I voted for Thorzain not just because I'm a big fan, but he's a strong macro player with strong gameplay. His TvP is exceptional, TvT is quite good, and despite his "weak" TvZ, he went to show he can take it to DRG in a BO5.

Also consider he's one of the lowest APM pro players out there shows he can still make good use of effective APM too.

This is really more like "which foreigner do i like most"

it isnt about the best

look at the list, think about the strong macro players... the players with wide ranges of play..

huk? idra? sen? even naniwa. Ret is the second lowest?

thorzain being first is just like, mindblowing. He is a great player for sure but his builds and macro are not up to 'gosu' standards. If the list were only, "which foreign terrans are the best", Thorzain very well might win. But I think in terms of mechanical skill, he isn't anywhere near the top.. meaning the word 'best' is probably not a very good word to use for a poll.

please explain how thorzain has inferior macro to the other players you listed.

I think Whitera and Morrow definitely deserve to be on this list more than Mana, Kas, or Sase

to be fair, sase DID qualify for code-a

He was given an invite. Jinro rejected his and advised to give it to SaSe.

he qualified in an tournement final where he won 4-2 over naniwa. dno if the 2nd code A season was about jinro giving away his spot, might be, but the first one was qualified of him.

ThorZaiN is my vote as best foreigner because he's shown the strongest play in korea by a foreigner as of yet. But I'm doubtful he has the macro ability to play at the highest level as other foreigners catch up in skill.

How has Thorzain shown better play than Huk who is Code S.

Thorzain's matches in the GSTL showed a higher level skill than what HuK currently has, IMO. Just because someone isn't in Code S doesn't mean they're automatically worse than the people who are in Code S. Look how long it took Bomber to get into it, just as an example. While he was still only in Code A/B, was he automatically MUCH WORSE than everyone in Code S? Might I remind you Hong'Un is Code S?

Lol, couple games in team league and you put Tzain above HuK already? How about HuK get 2 acekills for oGs then? How many chances have we seen him performed in the GSTL?
Not in code S = not competing at the highest level of the game. Anyone that could make it to R8+ is consider really good.

//Oh and HongUn is the second best Protoss in the world. Just look at the result and ignore Tasstorsis.

DRG, Julyzerg and Nestea all play Zerg the way I imagine the race was designed to play. There are so few terrans that could take DRG in a TvZ that I think you have to give it to Thorzain based on those two matchups alone (vP and vZ). Granted his TvT has seemed a little weaker, but TvT is changing so much at the moment I imagine whatever TZain does next is probably going to become the new standard.

So yeah, certainly the most scary foreigner at the moment. As I said in the thread, I've never seen anyone perfect a build during a tournament before. Remarkable stuff.

slayers terrans study thorzain replays like boxer said in a mlg interview....there is nothing to add :>

and the so called new imba 1-1-1 TvP was already used perfectly by thorzain in the mc vs thorzain tsl3 match...

Came in this thread so i could autovote ThorZain. Though HuK deserves an honorable mention. And select imo.

This post is nonsense, if you think that thorzain isn't the best, is your opinion. Don't bring your opinions as facts. Thorzain lost 2-3 against drg in dh valencia. He won 3-2 against MC when MC was in good shape.

And if you define mechanical skill as being the best, you better change the poll to which foreigner does have the most mechanical skill.

you have a bias in fandom

I'm not a fan of anyone on the list in particular

if you don't define best as 'mechanical skill' .... what do you define best as? biggest crowd pleaser? Most hyped? Best all-iner? I'm not saying thorzain is any of these but if we don't say macro play is the most important skill, what else makes good players good?

the poll isn't 'who is my favorite' player, and that's my point... there are so many people coming out for SPECIFIC players because they like them and want to support them.. but think about how the order of that list would change if Artosis gave them a "power" rank.

I had to really think about this one before voting, and in the end decided I think IdrA is the best foreigner, but with a giant asterisk. I think when playing at his absolute best IdrA would beat everyone on that list, but it's not like he does that often I feel. So yeah, I think he's the best foreign player when I try to rank them as "absolute best possible day", but in terms of the best foreigner based on how they currently play I don't think I could choose one.

Fun fact:

Every guy that Huk beat in Code S or in the ST lost against other foreigners aswell at lan tournaments

im not sure why everyone thinks Idra shouldnt be on the list. At the moment, maybe he isnt doing so well, but there isnt really room to argue that hes bad. he did incredibly well for a foreigner in BW, and hasnt done that bad in SC2 either. if someone could actually explain WHY he doesnt deserve to be considered good, then i would really like to hear a logical, factual reason.

otherwise, Sen, ThorZain, and Naniwa are my 3 race picks i suppose. in no particular order

Because huk made his ace kills when he was in really good shape and he did not show much of that in the past month.
