Maybe for early pressure, but when you look at the players near the top... most koreans aren't that much better. But ya if he was playing mvp or many other code s players he wouldnt have near that winrate. He did jsut solidly beat MMA though, I am very impressed with stephano's zvt and zvp.

Wasn't sase number 1 on eu ladder for a long time? While ladder record is nice, I still don't put a huge amount of stock into ladder ranking as it varies by pros how seriously they take ladder. Sase also had a 38 winning streak not long ago. But we cant take anything away from Stephano tho.

This doesn't mean Stephano is the best player in the universe obviously (or Europe), but he's displayed enough raw skill with this feat that you definitely need to take him into account for the future. Personally I consider it to be an achievement equal to winning one or two weekly cups.

Complexity could have sent him to Korea to study with DongRaeGu, who has the best ZvT in the world, in an entirely different style. Can you imagine how good Stephano and Doctor G would be if they had two completely different styles they could play equally as well?

I don't know what to say.. whoever considers merz as a top terran doesnt understand much about this game. maybe if apm is the only thing that counts! xD

Stephano could teach DRG some ZvP I just couldnt believe my eyes, when he 3-base-roach-pushed with 15 queens as support

Can you imagine how good Stephano and Doctor G would be if they had two completely different styles they could play equally as well? I agree. Korea is the only way. I don't believe DRG has the best ZvT in the world though, i certainly didn't see it last MLG at least... Beating Thorzain, while impressive, it wasn't done convincingly enough to warrant such a statement.

Despite how zergs do in tournaments or in high level play, zerg is objectively the easiest race to lose to a cheese or all-in, epsecially on the ladder without knowing opponents tendencies etc etc etc... And theres tons of terrans/protoss and even zergs in the vsZ matchup that constantly try funky new allins and wierd timings and just all around risky play to try and sneak out wins. That fact is what makes this feat really crazy, because hes played all those games whilst parrying the huge variety of cheeses that all 3 races can throw at vs a zerg. If you cant appreciate that then you dont understand the game. Terrans and protoss can force a long game vs a worse opponent and walk away with extremely high winrates, zerg cant. The fact that stephano has managed that high winrate despite being the most volatile race is extremely impressive.

It's simply the nature of a defensive race to be able to lose to stupid stuff.

However, Doctor G is actually insane with his understanding of TvZ. The only players I can remember on hand that have beaten him in that match-up are Bomber and MVP. Stephano has amazing ZvT, as does DRG, however they both approach the matchup very differently, in regards to unit compositions and style. I can't even wrap my head around what it would be like to see these two players able to switch back and forth between eachother's styles in a Best-of series. It would throw every Terran around the bend.
