And sure, he can just "hang around" french events, but if one day stephano wants to move on to an international team, NOBODY will be interested in signing him, NOBODY. I don't think this will have much impacts on Stephano itself. Teams are always willing to take good players, pretty much regardless of their background (read Major).

I think we should also forgive Stephano for his mistake and cut him some slag. I'm sure he didn't mean to sign and/or dodge a contract and start this drama. Let the teams resolve the legal issues and let Stephano focus on playing the game which gives us so much enjoyment.

1) Drama. 2) then stupid and inappropriated nationalism. 3) suddenly, Lawyers. Thousands of them. Everywhere. 4) More drama and nationalism. Expectation : modlocking in 30 min at most.

This kind of behaviour is "killing esport" but I think the person responsible of this mess is Stephano.

Jesus sounds like a horrible team manager and just lol thats why they don't' care what the international scene thinks because they don't plan on sending him to international tournaments. Another person here said he said the opposite. Do not blindly trust a random person taht writes on a forum lol.

Common sense. MLG Orlando, and IPL are certainty plus an invite to a yet-to-be-announced tournament. You will eat your words.

Stephano is a fucking amazing player an should be given the opportunity to compete in as many international events as possible Don't worry about that part. This is an english translation of an oral conversation. I heard the opposite (he could go 1-2 month in korea and attend major event like MLG, DH, IPL). Time will tell...

"He was tired" -- And? How stupid are you French people that you sign contracts at 3AM? This thread is a good example of why the world hates France. Bunch of wussy cry babies. Out of context. But could we have a ban on people spewing nationalist insults like that? It's getting out of hand... On the case of Stephano I just want to know one thing : if he would himself be in trouble or if only Millenium could. My impression is that only Millenium could really be in trouble and most Stephano would be is having to pay ridiculously low tax?

I just lost all respect from Stephano and Millenium alltogether. This behavior is wrong and unprofessional. When I sign something, I give my words I'm gonna honor it following the terms of the contract. There's no way around it. It's called being adult. Or a man (macho version). I'm with you, and this kind of stuff isn't ever good for eSports, it just puts doubt into the minds of sponsors. Hey Coke wants to sponsor new player X! wait, nm they decided not to for fear of losing face to player X saying "no just kidding" after Coke posts huge announcement on Coke.com.

I've seen nothing to suggest that a French National signing an employment agreement with a non-French entity (such a Complexity) would be covered by French Labor Law. If I (as an American) signed a contract to work in Singapore as a factory worker I would not be entitled to a US minimum wage. The work week in France is 35 hours, but if an employee were to work in the United States the expected work week would be 40 (unfortunately). And if a Brazilian were to immigrate to the United States he or she would be subject to US employment law. According to French Wiki, a probationary period is option and must be explicit in order to apply. According to this professional athletes are considered "fixed term employees" under EU law which obviously would seem the closest fit to pro SC2 player. This supports Col's claims about the contract I think Mil doesn't want to lose one of their few (arguably only) relevant players and used personal pressure to convince Stephano to back out and are trying to bluster their way out of the contract. Also it was not an employment contract it was a contractor contract, and different laws apply, im pretty sure the labor laws the french are referring too applies to employment contracts, but this is something entirely different.
