Myes, I can't remember if it was Wilma or not where it was like a Cat 1 for the longest time and just jumped up to a Cat 3 on the very last few hours before landfall and just fucked everything up.

This is just getting into mindless mudslinging.
So I'll mature up and walk away before one of us gets banned, for your sake.
But last note: If you don't know what you're talking about, it's advised not to talk about it.

Nonetheless, we're in for a big one after so long without one.

At first I thought this thread was going to be about Rain.

Oh no I know nothing about hurricanes, but even I can see that this is bad :/ Both for people and SC2 streams..
Well atleast, I guess we can stop the stupid discussion about cat. 2 being dangerous or not.

The initial title was misleading me to think it was about YellOw x-x
It was like "Storm Zerg comes to Releigh"

Wait, the hurricane in question is Hurricane Irene? That is kind of far away, so anything can happen. It could change course, get miraculously weaker, or get way stronger. Just keep a close eye before making any judgements.

Im sorry that topics get sometimes messy, people are just so stupid and I often times feel that they need to be lectured about very simple concepts even. But i should have stopped this earlier because it was quiet clear that he is very stubborn and simply not able to sane logic and rationality.
I will stop this now, I already wasted my time.

I kind of hope it goes more East and then bears West to hit the Carolina's like the last few Hurricane's that have come close.

Ya honestly, myself included, none of us really know that much about hurricanes. I'm just trying to use the resources provided to give my best guess on what is happening. Because just like all of you, I'm going to MLG too, and I'd prefer to be as safe as possible.

I was in Chapel Hill through Hurricane Floyd, a Category 5 hurricane. We got lots of rain, but that's it.
Category 2 means nothing, especially three hours inland like Raleigh is.
EDIT: Expect lots of rain though.

I thought it was originally "Storm zergs Raleigh", which is pretty straightforward

Something to that effect.
Hopefully no idiot straps himself to a tree in the middle of a field of rocks though like some guy in the Keys a few years ago and got all fucked up from it.

Hotels are usually extremely safe because of their structure. If it gets to be unusually bad and you have no way to evacuate, hospitals and such are good places to go for shelter. People survived Katrina in hospitals in New Orleans, so yeah...you shouldn't die.

I'm just glad it isn't going for Louisiana (unless it trolls us and cuts through Flordia). Picking up debris and living without power for a few weeks in stupidly hot weather sucked soooo much for Katrina.

I remember Wilma putting out my power for three mother fucking weeks in the middle of the damn 95 degree summer.
God damnit. Thanks for reminding me x-x
