And Idra will be in, he qualified from last season. Somehow i cannot imagine Idra getting up in the morning to play it. He might decline the invite for the same reason Thorzain did. He won't be going to Korea until the end of this year, NASL will probably be over by then. And if Huk is doing it, Idra will. EG will probably make him do it.

Would be a huge shame if he wasn't invited just cause he didn't do so well in Season 1 (when he overall was slumping)...
edit: plus his style is so unique that it can't be replaced.
If they dont try to invite GoOdy, Stephano and Nerchio they would be stupid. These are the leading EU players. Maybe GoOdy refused to participate, because the NASL hasnt payed back the money from the first season yet. GoOdy should be invited for the reason that his playstyle is unique in the pro world of starcraft 2 and his fanbase is huge here in EU.

Agreed on Goody Nerchio and Stephano. What about LiquidHero? Since Puma is attending I assume he could also attend given that he isnt in a Korean team anymore am I right?

Well, it's kinda easy to follow them.
In basically every EU event that matters they are, for good reason, in .

Oh man i hope this goes well. I like how they are trying to make these awesome backstories with all of the non-foreign players, but without the Koreans, things will be a lot different to say the least

lol, they are making like 8 "good vs evil" themes but didn't do one for Idra? Just an observation, I don't really have something against it.
|
I don't agree with having Haypro and Moonglade back over inviting Nerchio and Stepahno.
|
Pretty sure Goody and NASL has some issues S1 so I would not expect him to be in it S2.
|
No Bubbles, what a rip off to him.
Yeah, Demuslim lost to Lowely in the same round in the qualifying tourney. Bubbles lost to Thorzain in the same round, easily a better player. And while Demuslim may be better than Bubbles now, the fact that neither Thorzain nor Bubbles will be in this league and both Demuslim and Lowely are in this league is mystifying.
Also, I thought there was going to be 45 players?

The funny thing is, that I wouldn´t have complained about Goody not returning, because he frankly didn´t deliver in Season 1, because of a slump. But the way they announced Haypro was for a lack of a better word dumb. They make a Germany theme and announce the four save germans and instead to announce another save player, who isn´t german, they reinvite a player, who had the same result in season 1 as the only left out german: goody (2-7). Of course many people will now have one question in mind: Why? Because of recent results? LMAO no. Haypro seems like the eternal talent. We always hear, how much potential he has, but we see no results. Goody on the other hand wins pretty much half the cups he enters. Just yesterday he won a cup with extreme hard competition (Socke, Darkforce, Tarson, Kas, Beastyqt etc.). Because of popularity? No. Goody has archived some form of cult status not only in the german but also the international community. He is one of the few foreign pro´s, that has a nickname, that pretty much every one in the community knows and can indentify with him. Hell, he even has a personal song (well kinda ). The most outstanding fact about Haypro? His clantag. Which leads to the only deciding thing for the reinvitation I can think of: Their teams. Goody is part and by far best player of the relatively unknown (atleast outside germany) clan ESC gaming. Haypro plays for Team liquid, which needs no introduction. I just hope, that there are other reasons why NASL picked Haypro over Goody (maybe he will be announced later, which would still be bad timing on part of NASL). Because picking Players solely because of their teams is a pretty big fail.
Completely agree. I love Haypro because I love team liquid, but I agree with your logic here and would have rather seen goody. Although with the mech revolution we've seen lately I guess goody's style isn't quite as unique as it once was.

Now that the full list is out, I'll post here to explain some questions some people might have:
40 players?!?!?
Due to what happened, we got put off schedule, we decided to cut the league to 40 players in order for us to be able to actually run the season in our original timeframe -- pushing it back would then put the finals in direct conflict with Christmas, which we can't do. So, it was necessary to cut down on the number of players.
Where's Stephano??!!
He didn't play in any qualifier, nor did anyone from his team, or himself personally reach out to me or express any interest in playing. *NOTE: I didn't reach out to any player who didn't play qualifiers or weren't from Season 1. The only player in the league who is in and didn't attempt to qualify is HuK.
Where's GoOdy
GoOdy had some attendance problems in Season 1 which put him lower on our list of players to ask to participate, which unfortunately put him below the 40 player cutoff.
Where's Nerchio
While Nerchio didn't get an invitation into Season 2, we plan on inviting him to a special event that we will be hosting that will be announced, so you will in fact (if he accepts) be seeing some of him.
Where's Kas
I invited him, but never got a confirmation about his VISA status nor did I get a final confirmation from his manager that he could play.
....
I'm not going to explain in detail every choice, but those hopefully will give some insight as to why we chose certain players over others, etc. We hope that you enjoy the player list we've put together and hope you will get ready for Season 2!
Remember, our preseason show is tomorrow and the league will start in about 2 weeks!

i love that you guys explain every single person who should be but wasn't there..
that's accountability that i can get behind.

Make those 4 (if they accept) Auto entrants into the quarterfinals of a qualifier... that would be pretty cool

I'm actually quite glad that the Koreans aren't participating. There was entirely too much content for me to watch when the last NASL was running.

Did SixjaxMajor applied?, I wanted to see him play.
