The only one that leaves me scratching my head is the Incontrol and BratOK one. I look forward to watching them this season but they don't seem to be headline players like the others featured in the pictures so far. Also Cold War II?

America Russia you know hype hype hype Brat_OK also likes his ghosts so maybe we'll see some Nukes but then again maybe not.

The funny thing is, that I wouldn´t have complained about Goody not returning, because he frankly didn´t deliver in Season 1, because of a slump. But the way they announced Haypro was for a lack of a better word dumb. They make a Germany theme and announce the four save germans and instead to announce another save player, who isn´t german, they reinvite a player, who had the same result in season 1 as the only left out german: goody (2-7). Of course many people will now have one question in mind: Why? Because of recent results? LMAO no. Haypro seems like the eternal talent. We always hear, how much potential he has, but we see no results. Goody on the other hand wins pretty much half the cups he enters. Just yesterday he won a cup with extreme hard competition (Socke, Darkforce, Tarson, Kas, Beastyqt etc.). Because of popularity? No. Goody has archived some form of cult status not only in the german but also the international community. He is one of the few foreign pro´s, that has a nickname, that pretty much every one in the community knows and can indentify with him. Hell, he even has a personal song (well kinda ![]() Which leads to the only deciding thing for the reinvitation I can think of: Their teams. Goody is part and by far best player of the relatively unknown (atleast outside germany) clan ESC gaming. Haypro plays for Team liquid, which needs no introduction. I just hope, that there are other reasons why NASL picked Haypro over Goody (maybe he will be announced later, which would still be bad timing on part of NASL). Because picking Players solely because of their teams is a pretty big fail. Excellent summary! Goody really is on a roll nowadays, he doesn't even have a TvP weakness anymore and is probably the strongest and most consistent weekly cup player in EU (just read the tournament roundups and you will see Goody near the top every time). Would be a huge shame if he wasn't invited just cause he didn't do so well in Season 1 (when he overall was slumping)... edit: plus his style is so unique that it can't be replaced.

But really, some of these players are not top tier players. They just have their names out in the community but rarely/never perform well in tournaments and when push comes to shove, nobody would ever bet money on them being successful. I really don't think in a game as highly competitve as SC2 , you should have this group of players up on a pedestal saying "these guys are in! WE DON'T CARE IF 500 OTHER PLAYERS ARE BETTER THAN THEY ARE! THEY ARE PRO GAMERS!" It reminds me of earlier MLG tournaments where the Halo pro gaming teams were just these lucky guys who were chosen at some point to play in this tournament and would return year after year with no chance for anybody else to qualify. I think next time you should maybe take the top half of the previous season performances, and then throw the other half into qualifiers with everyone else. And I mean, if you have this long drawn out qualifying system (not single elimination), then you can basically stream that in the offseason, which does not require you to shell out any money. It'd also put some weight behind the whole system as being legit instead of seemingly some kids who were given a giant wad of cash and playing the 'who's popular' game to determine who can win the money. also this whole convoluted team system is stupid as well, you should stop trying to muddy the waters and make this entire thing transparent. You underestimate your viewership if you think we need name brand players to tune in. We want to see the (proven) best players compete. Take a lesson from GSL where players actually have to earn and prove themselves all the time to stay in the game.
