I'm honestly kind of disappointed that Haypro keeps getting invited to every single big tournament, while he doesn't put up any results. He was 2-7 last season, and his winrate in the TLPD is 42%. I know not all the invites are out yet, but it seems really bad form to bring back a player who performed so poorly in the last season, and there are many zergs who deserve that spot instead.

I feel bad for the guy because he seems nice and draws all this bashing, but really, it seems like he only gets invited to tournaments because the organizers are like "Meh, we've got an extra slot, who's popular? Oh ok, Haypro."

I'm happy for Hasu, Socke and DF, although it's not really surprising they did get invited and they surely deserve it. I have my doubts about TLO though. He's famous and got quite a fanbase (mostly around people from the US, who don't follow the EU scene closely it seems) but skillwise right now he's surely behind Goody (and not only him) and has yet to proof that he can once again compete at the highest level. No srsly (especially looking at the playerlist so far), NASL without the Panzergeneral would be ridiculous.
Same obviously is true about Stephano, Nerchio etc, but I'm still confident they'll get an invite. NASL can't be that ignorant, right? Right?!


What are you talking about? TLO DF Socke and Hasu are all returning from last season - they didn't get re-invited, they were already guaranteed spots based on their performance in Season 1.

EDIT: On the other hand Goody got removed based on his performance, so they would have to reinvite him if he was to return.

I'm talking about the general issue in SC2 and with NASL specifically that players do not get tournament invites based on their actual skill. And I'd obviously like NASL to be a tournament where "some of the best players" compete as I think they advertised it in Season 1, not just some somewhat good or ok guys.


Well its not any of their faults that every single one of them performed better than Goody in Season 1. So your argument is completely unjustified. It's like complaining that some subpar players in the GSL get to stay in Code A because they didn't get eliminated in the RO32...

For the players who were fortunate to get an invite, consider it good fortune on their parts, but for those who don't - they only have themselves to blame, they were unable to maintain their position from Season 1 or were unable to make it far enough in the qualifiers.

The best EU players are still in it (Ret, Dimaga and Mana) and with some Koreans (Hero, Puma and Rain) and Sen and Softball I think it will be a pretty good tournament even without Nerchio and Stephano tbh

Haypro is no German, GoOdy is. Both have won and lost the same amount of sets, GoOdy losing but also winning for single games. Haypro has no recent results in the last half of a year, while GoOdy has gotten 7 golds, 3 silver, 1 bronze out of tournaments last month. :-(

I hope they are just saving him for some tank-themed day, otherwise this will turn out the same as season 1 did: several great game, plenty of good games, but masses of roflstomps because some invited players are not up to par (even though the average elimination percentage is only 20%, NA would have lost 50% of their lineup).

really ? "achtung baby" was all they imagine to germany ? ;( also very sad no goody anymore

ps: i know this sentences now in liquid isnt famous but i cant understand, i not even can imagine why haypro is saved, his lately results are really bad

sure hes a great gamer no doubt but saving him and let as example goody go down (wcg germany qualified and alot good results lately) is just ... not fair

Well, I normally don´t jump on the NASL hate train, but I can not help to shake my head at the re-invitation of haypro.

The funny thing is, that I wouldn´t have complained about Goody not returning, because he frankly didn´t deliver in Season 1, because of a slump.

But the way they announced Haypro was for a lack of a better word dumb.

They make a Germany theme and announce the four save germans and instead to announce another save player, who isn´t german, they reinvite a player, who had the same result in season 1 as the only left out german: goody (2-7).

Of course many people will now have one question in mind: Why?

Because of recent results? LMAO no. Haypro seems like the eternal talent. We always hear, how much potential he has, but we see no results. Goody on the other hand wins pretty much half the cups he enters. Just yesterday he won a cup with extreme hard competition (Socke, Darkforce, Tarson, Kas, Beastyqt etc.).

Because of popularity? No. Goody has archived some form of cult status not only in the german but also the international community. He is one of the few foreign pro´s, that has a nickname, that pretty much every one in the community knows and can indentify with him. Hell, he even has a personal song (well kinda ). The most outstanding fact about Haypro? His clantag.

Which leads to the only deciding thing for the reinvitation I can think of: Their teams. Goody is part and by far best player of the relatively unknown (atleast outside germany) clan ESC gaming. Haypro plays for Team liquid, which needs no introduction.

I just hope, that there are other reasons why NASL picked Haypro over Goody (maybe he will be announced later, which would still be bad timing on part of NASL). Because picking Players solely because of their teams is a pretty big fail.
