Go EG, Go Huk! My favorite team picked up one of my favorite players, great day for me. To all the people who say Huk sold out...of course he did, who doesn't....no I want to make a lot less so I can show how much honor I have. What a load of crap!
I think people also forget that Liquid bought Huk....yes I know when Liquid does it, it is nothing but class, and when EG does anything it's apparently Evil, but Huk was only on Liquid for a year.......I love the Stark's but it's fantasy for a reason.

I honestly want to know HuK's reasoning. If it were me I don't think I could give up such good practice partners/friends just like that.
Sure it was a couple weeks of negotiation but still, I don't think he will be able to achieve his maximum skill level practicing with Puma and Idra.
Time will tell I guess.

He does most of his work on the Ladder, and EG.Puma is still practicing with his old friends in TSL, most all of these guys help each other out, the whole practice environment is way overplayed. Great players want to practice with great players, and there are a lot of great players in Korea.

So is it too early to start guessing EG's next acquisition? I'm guessing they'll probably get 2-3 more top tier players to live in the Korean house. I'm guessing they'll pick up Sage, Coca and another top foreigner when their current contract expires, possibly Thorzain.

Damn, shit just got real. I am SO excited for this. I have wanted idra to go back to korea for a long time. And Huk on team EG... can only be exciting stuff. Teamliquid lost their best player but esports just got severed a juicy one in a big way.

Especially since the only reason is money. I get told everywhere that money is the most important thing and that depresses me a lot. Soon I have to make a similar decision when I'm done with my studies and have to decide whether to work in a large company with lots of moniez or a small one where I can live a passion. To me the decision seems easy, but I try to understand Huk's decision. It's not easy though and when I read what Huk and the other Liquid guys wrote I get angry that Huk throws that all away, again, just for money. Of course, financial stability is a nice thing to have and I don't know the details of the contract, but I'd rather be poor with good friends than rich and lonely.
I'm sorry I come off bitter but Liquid always was a fortress against stupid corporations and this deal seems to show that corporations win in the end. I really wish Huk all the best but at the same time I wish EG all the worst.. I will still cheer for him though, but as Liquid`Huk and I refuse to use his new clantag. I don't know how long this contract will last but maybe when it's over Huk can come back to Liquid, knowing that no money in the world can compensate for what Liquid has to offer.
As much as I hate it but maybe this should be a call for Nazgul to look for bigger investors. I guess it's hard to find people in the business that share your visions and I really appreciate that he won't compromise. But I would hate to see Liquid going down because of the various issues that come along with having less funds than other teams. I wish I'd be rich or would win the lottery so I could support Liquid and give them what they deserve. Two points: 1. You're going to be working what I assume to be some sort of 9-5 job. This is not something that will become harder the longer you work at it. You show up, don't screw up and will probably end up getting more rewards either in pay or responsibilities as you move up the job ladder. Being a successful progamer, outside of a few anomalies like Nestea, is not something that most people will be able to work at for the rest of their life as a means of supporting themselves (and their families). If HuK is treating what he does as not only his passion but also his career, then this seems like absolutely the right move to do. He gets paid a "life changing" amount and gets to practice in Korean with Idra and Puma. Seems like a good deal to me. 2. There is absolutely some amount of money that can compensate for what Liquid has to offer. It might depress you, but money is absolutely important. You're not yet done with your studies so I guess you're in college, right? Sorry to burst your bubble but that "large company with lots of moniez"? If they offer you a large enough pay bump over the smaller company you are, in all likelihood, going to take that offer. So would most people in that position. HuK is doing what's best for him and, honestly, as his fan that's something that makes me happy. I don't want him taking a significant cut in pay just to stay with a team that has more fans. He's still HuK, just EG.HuK instead of Liquid.HuK. So long as he doesn't change his attitude towards practice, his general work ethic and his sense of humor, I'll always be a HuK fan To add to your wonderful response, we dont really know Huks financial situation either, so its hard for us to say "he only did it for the money." Every pro gamer strives for success both on a financial and competitive level, Huk has the wonderful opportunity to continue to do both. Well i think his competitive level will definitely decline, but by how much is the real question. No one can really deny that his training wont be as solid with just idra and puma then it would be if he stayed at the OGS house training. Idra's skill has definitely declined since he left korea to the point where its hard to say if hes even code a level, and Puma although winning NASL and beating some code s players along the way, has not really shown much consistency yet. We will have to wait and see. I still think the Huk will decline because hes moving out is a poor argument. Heres why: 1. His work ethic has proven to be world class. 2. His motivation to improve has been very well documented. I completely agree that training in the oGs house has helped him but its not because of oGs or TL, its because his determination allowed him to milk the opportunity. Not to bash the others but Ret, Tlo, haypro, and even Jinro now, havent been able to be as successful. Even within the deep team of oGs, there are only a few successful players. MC being the leader by far and code S players like top, nada, zenio and maybe supernova but beyond that their roster lacks a lot of consistency as well. Im not going to be naive and say that its a coincidence or that Huk is simply the lucky one. He is where he is because he trains 12 hour days. If his work ethic and his determination doesnt change, theres no reason to believe he will decline at all. Especially because his relationships with the oGs guys appear to be very solid, I doubt they'll abandon him now. LOL REALLY? They wont abandon him? He already abandoned them. Why do you think he already deleted all of oGs off his twitter? If you really think anyone from oGs is going to support HUK in EG when they're partnered with Liquid you're nuts. Boy oh boy. How emotional you are. Youre understandably angry so I'll point out nicely that you are a prototypical bandwagon fan and that the facts you've listed in your post are wrong. Dont get too mad when EG inevitably begins start winning. Oh wow that cool calm and collective post that you just laid out there said just about nothing. If I was a bandwagon fan wouldnt my favorite player switching to EG motivate me to support EG instead of saying "All of my support stays with Liquid?" I'm sorry but you make zero sense but thanks for the unemotional response. You're so good at the internet. You continue to make mistakes. Did you not say Huk was your favorite player? Doesnt sound like you have a very good foundation if he was your favorite player. Perhaps you should have said TL is my favorite team. That would have made more sense. You did say Huk was your favorite player right? and you also said that Huk deleted all the oGs members from his twitter right? If you want to be taken seriously you cant make these kinds of posts, you seem like a little whinny school girl.
I dont care if little PBU's take me seriously. If you want to be taken seriously you have to stop expecting me to give a shit if you take me seriously. This is the internet bud, welcome. HuK was my favorite player before he joined liquid, but i'm not going to support a player that goes to a team that I find to be a giant piece of shit. Just like when Jayson Werth sold out the Phillies and went to the nationals, I didnt become a nationals fan. Also look up what jumping on the band wagon means, because you're obviously clueless.

Holy fuck.
This is probably the best thing I've heard in awhile. I can't wait to see the result of IdrA, HuK, and Puma all training together. My fav zerg and protoss on the same team. EG going god-mode now. :D

I don't think EG will be making to many more acquisitions, They are pretty North American based, and that is where their main following is, It's great to have a foreigner or 2 but, I don't think they are trying to go FXO on anyone.

You think the hype thing was all for EG? Did nobody here participate in it, trying to figure out the clues and have some fun??
To me the whole timer/mp3's was alot of fun, and I appreciate the fact that EG allowe me to have some fun on these forums for once. I've had enough of the balance bullshit we see everyday here

@HXC Chris
What exactly does selling out meant to you? I'm very curious.

I need a new hero

wow how awesome, just when I thought they were going to be training in Arizona !

I'm wondering how much more money he's making now but it must be significant. I'm going to miss seeing him in the liquid uniform. And poor Jinro living by himself in korea now, that has to suck

Wouldn't it stand to reason that they would want to compete in GSTL? And there's nothing more that GomTV wants than more foreign teams in the GSTL. But to to do that they will need more players in the Korean house--more top level players--which means more acquisitions. In my view, this is very similar to something FXO would do, just on a smaller scale. I don't expect them to buy an entire team like FXO, but I do suspect they will get at least one or two more top level Koreans as well as one or two more top level foreigners.

Next up: EG clears their entire roster except for HuK, idrA, puma, and demuslim and acquires every code S player!
|
Just seems to me like EG has ADD, setting up all these things and only half-following through with them (i.e. the teamhouse).
So now only the B and C level EG guys (incontrol, machine etc.) will stay at the NA teamhouse?
