I honestly don't understand how anyone can enjoy his casting.
To be a good caster you have to at least either have a great personality or a deep understanding of the game, or at least fall somewhere in between on both spectrums. Moletrap doesn't seem to possess either of those qualities in the slightest.
What makes Tastosis is so great is they have a good balance of each of those, with Artosis being more the strategist type and Tasteless being more the entertainer - even though they are both very capable of doing either.
I just don't feel as though Moletrap has the type of personality to be in the entertainment business. I often feel uncomfortable watching him cast because he is socially awkward at times and doesn't seem to understand the give and take of casting. I just don't see what he brings to the table, or why people like him at all. He's not funny and doesn't seem to understand the game very well.

I'm very open minded, but I won't stand for this guy disrespecting people who have accomplished far more than he ever will in his entire life. Not to mention, he is always completely unprepared when it comes to his casting.
His casting is the equivalent of that kid who came to class without his homework and ended up saying the dog ate his homework to the teacher. Or in other words, complete bullshit.
Overreact much? He called one dude who lost his code A ro48 match a scrub, chill out. He's not unprepared, he is a fine caster, and he is anything but a poison. If you don't like his casting you can mute it but you don't have to insult the man who is simply doing his job just because he isn't your cup of tea. Plenty of people like his casting.

He may be doing his job, but not very well.

He's hiking a MOUNTAIN okay! And it's getting HARDER like rock climbing! But he still has ALOT of work ahead of him!
Sheesh!

lol - seriously, I don't think he has

Okay, but what are people saying they like about him? His comments are usually just what's happening on screen and rarely provide the viewer with additional information. And his sense of humor is just flat out bad. I've never him crack a decent joke before.

fine with him if he sticks to play by play. didn't like him calling sculp, who went on to 4-0 tsl nearly an all-kill, a scrub based off one b03 in in his first gsl match. just stick with what he can do which is play by play of whats going on in the game and not try to analyze things, make judgements about players he hasn't seen much of.

I like moletrap. he's not my favorite, but he is skilled, and good, imo. glad to have him around.

Maybe if people gave constructive criticism instead of incessant insults, he would get better faster.
Good caster or not, I commend him for sticking to it and trying to grow as a caster, which I believe he has done.

I've just finished watching some GSTL with Khaldor and Moletrap. I came in here to see what I've come to the conclusion that many of you in this thread posting about what a terrible caster Moletrap is have three things in common:
1. Too much misplaced hate (Links to troll filled polls?) 2. Too much time on your hands (lengthy e-mail to GOM? WTF) 3. Not one sweet clue what you're talking about.
I just watched the GSTL for the first time. I can't pick a single thing out of either Khaldor or Moletrap which I could honestly say I disliked with even 1% of the vitriol that I'm hearing in much of this thread.
If you don't like his casting, fine. You want to offer some criticism, go nuts! You should truly be ashamed of the way you're treating this man. You know who you are (maybe this is wishful thinking on my part....you probably don't).

If you stayed tuned he started talking about bakeries.
While I think Moletrap gets too much hate, I'm not a fan either. I'd really like to see GOMtv hire a bilingual (Korean/English) caster.

A small minority actually support him.
Everyone else wants him gone and rightfully so. There are better options out there.

Moletrap is awesome. I didn't care for his casting at all when he first started, but I've changed my mind after getting used to him. Maybe his voice was a little off-putting at first, but his analysis is more informed than most other casters, and he doesn't act like a different person on camera. He has a relaxed (not overenthusiastic) style, and always calls out the important details of the game rather than getting distracted. Some other casters begin yelling about some unimportant or already decided battle until it's completely over, and miss other things going on which actually matter, because they think everyone needs to get excited about units dying. I'd rather know what's happening in the game.
I do think that his personality clashes with Khaldor, though. I enjoy both casters separately, but not when they're casting together. Khaldor is a more excitable caster, and sometimes he begins shouting about something while Moletrap will be trying to explain something else, or Moletrap will explain something, after which Khaldor will repeat it in less detail and seem like he didn't know Moletrap was just talking about it, which is quite awkward to listen to. It's also awkward when Khaldor tells a joke that isn't really funny and Moletrap kind of ignores it instead of just going along with it as he should. Hopefully they'll learn to cast better with each other, or not together, but they're both great and I'm surprised at all the complaints people have.

After all this hate, I am starting to think people are simply bandwagoning. Moletrap is fine he does a good job and he will get better as time passes.

I don't think you understand, he's ruining the game for a lot of people - meaning when he casts the games are unwatchable.
I'm going to be honest, I just don't like him as a person. But taking your advice, here's some constructive criticism for him.
1. You don't always have to be talking, too many times I watch you cast, it seems like you're just talking for the sake of talking. If you're going to say something, make it have actual meaning. 2. Be confident with your humor - no one ever finds insecurity funny. Look at Tastosis as a good example of that 3. No when to shut up and let you're co-castor speak, remember you're a team. 4. Do your research when it comes to players and builds, too many times I've seen you say something about a player/build that just ends up being dead wrong, granted you can't be right %100 of the time, but you should be closer to %80, not %40 5. Don't just say what's happening on screen, anyone can do that. Try to make original, interesting points that the viewer might not of noticed.
I guess I just avoided giving constructive criticism because as you can see, he needs a lot of work imo. Frankly, i think he's beyond getting better, so I say just get rid of him. But if he could fix 2 or 3 of those things I just listed, I'd be happy.

moletrap is actually pretty good and i am picky with casters... i like the whole english commentators at gom only 1 caster i cant stand listening to is HDstarcraft

The only thing I dislike about his cast is that he'll almost always make an apology about getting a statistic wrong every cast.
Bringing in statistics of a player is fine and nice, but either get them right, or avoid referring to them when unsure. Right now, I always know there'll be a "sorry about that" moment whenever I see him casting. It'll probably help his image if he doesn't go about making such slip ups all the time too.
