Succeed:
QXC - His all-kill of the IM team was awesome. Hoping he follows in Jinro and Huks footsteps by winning a big tournament after a stint in Korea.
Boxer - No reason neccessary.
MVP - He's been my favourite player for a while and I really want to see him come out of this slump.
Fail
MC - Guy is entertaining but I think I need a break from him getting to the final stages of every tournament. Also, 1 less Protoss means less chance of having to watch a PvP.

Boxer. This guy is so far past his glory days it's not even funny. He's the SC2 equivalent of a modern day backstreet boy. Get over him already.
You won't go long here with this being your 2nd post, lol. Seriously, it's boxer.

Unless I missed something, Boxer won't get a Code A spot even if he places top 3, because he's Korean.

vile.Spanishiwa: How should I best explain this? You have players like tgun and Gatored, who are capable of competing at a very high level, but I'm not under some illusion that they're so good that they can go and beat MC or anything. Spanishiwa is one of those very, very few players I would actually say is overrated. Wait, wait. Don't get me wrong, he's good. He's damn good. He's beaten some great players such as TLO, but there's one thing I really hate, you see, and that is fanboys. Whether it's Halo fanboys, Broly fanboys or whatever. Spanishiwa is one of those players who has genuine fanboys that overrate him. A lot of players do, I know. Destiny does too, and I want Destiny to do well! But MAN, if you look at Husky's videos of Spanishiwa, I just get really, really annoyed. There are people saying "Spanishiwa is the greatest player of all time!" "I wonder if it's actually possible to beat Spanishiwa! He's unstoppable!" "Spanishiwa could seriously become a bonjwa!" "Spanishiwa vs MC! That would be an amazing match!" Stop it, stop it! Spanishiwa is good, but he's not that good! This exists for most players, but I have never seen it to such an aggravating extent as Spanishiwa. I hope Spanishiwa bombs out, just to shut these guys up. I should know better though. Fanboys never shut up. It's hard to resist to become a Spanishiwa fan. I once watched him for three games on his stream. Though he lost all of them, I learned A TON. He was performing his icefisher build and did things I thought were impossible. He commented on a chat note – it was not me who he commented on, but someone else – and still changed my mindset. Now I don't play to win on ladder, but to improve. (I don't play to win this game, only to win a game I will play at a later point.)
I would say, he is legit as he also can win versus top players. It's not just entertaining play.

Win: Nani Idra DRG
Lose: None from the pool play. Open bracket will sort itself out, so to say.

Succeed:
Idra - I loved his play for a long time, and to this day, I continue to love his play. I hope he gets another top result under his belt, as long as he can stay calm.
White-Ra - The first player I became a fan of for SC2. Someone you can listen to while talking English, not get bored one moment. He is really, really good, and an absolutely great guy.
SeleCT - I can never get enough of his play, his recent play vs. Morrow in Shoutcraft #2 was amazing, and I wanna see him really, really successful. In MLG Dallas, his match vs. Incontrol was complete and utter domination. That play left my jaw open for minutes.
Fail: I am not going to "hope" for fails, because it sort of sounds childish and mean, but I'm going to write who I think is going to fail.
Tyler - He's in slump for such a long time, and honestly I don't expect any mind-blowing improvement. Destiny - I don't think he will fail that hard, but I don't see him advancing too much in the tournament. I think he will fail in comparison to the expectations, not due to his own play, because he isn't actually bad. Demuslim - For this one, I just feel like it. I don't know why.

Koreans players are not eligible for the Code A spots but they can take the Code S spot if they finish in first place.

Succeed: DRG MMA so they can get code S spots.
Fail: nobody, so we will get good games

Succeed: Boxer Naniwa Morrow (in case he plays :D)
Fail: ZERG -.- (except Morrow ofc :D)

Do Well:
Boxer - The Emperor needs some good results to turn around his recent losses. Hopefully his shoulder injury won't be holding him back this time around. I am expecting (hoping) him to place top 8 at the very least and taking top 3 would do wonders for his morale.
MVP - He has been slumping lately and I really want MVP to get back into form. I want to see him absolutely crush his foreigner competition and get this win under his belt so that maybe he will be able to step up his GSL performances and provide us with another amazing run like in GSL S4.
Jinro - This grey back has been slumping hard lately. Ever since his last RO4 appearance in the GSL he has been losing everything. Even at Dreamhack, in his home country where everyone was cheering for him to succeed, he failed to achieve anything. These three players that I want to do well are the three I also want to stand on the podium in the end of the tournament.
Fail:
Spanishiwa - This is probably my least favorite player in existence right now. So overly hyped it is ridiculous. His play style is so sugar coated by his fans that if you ate it, it would give you diabetes instantly. His fan base loves him unconditionally, for reasons unbeknownst to me. Every time I hear his name, I feel like an iv filled jaegermeister (brewed with extra rage) has been stuck into my arm and makes me want to just break everything in sight.
Major - This guy is a prick. Always has been and always will be. He is a pretty good player but I want to see him out of a team within two months and to help expedite that process, he needs to lose everything.
LzGaMeR - I don't even know why he is still on EG. He switched races recently from terran to zerg and has had similar results (None). I probably don't even need to add him to the list because I already know that he will achieve nothing here so I will add a different person.
HDStarcraft/Painuser - Didn't even realize they were playing until I looked at the listed of players showing up at Anaheim, but now that I know they will be there, I want them to not only get knocked out first round by some random master's league players, but to get absolutely annihilated by the guys.
|
Succeed: Boxer - It's time for him to erupt and give these whippersnappers the what for. Sheth - Would love to see him do really well to help him in finding a new team. Tyler - It appears he's actually training for this event, and if history serves, he'll be a force to be reckoned with.
Fail: PainUser - I just don't want to see professional casters/content providers do well. Devote more time to the game if you want to occupy an open bracket spot. HDStarcraft - I just don't want to see professional casters/content providers do well. Devote more time to the game if you want to occupy an open bracket spot. Drewbie - Watched his stream a few times, and a few interviews. Just never cared for him. His play is underwhelming as well.

Do well: All my tQ teammates! (tQWannaBe, tQMewtwo, tQSungpA) Sorry if I forgot someone
White-ra Naniwa Boxer
Do poorly: EG (Especially IdrA) MajOr (Disliked him since BW) Destiny (Don't really care about him, but his fanbase pisses me off)

To do well: #1: DRG #2: BoxeR (Get your Code S slot back man!) #3: Destiny
To fail: - Nobody, wanting people to fail is disgusting imo

Do well.
Foreign players. QXC, Incontrol, etc Destiny and Catz. Entertaining streams and very good players. Only Zergs that I wouldn't mind winning. Megumixbear. Skilled player. Fun to watch and contributes to the community with tournaments.
Fail.
Koreans. Overated and tired of people kissing their feet. Zergs. Overpowered whiners.
