Win: QXC, DeMu, BoxeR

Fail: If they play well, they deserve to win, idc about drama on TL or care to troll people.

To suceed: BoxeR, MVP, Huk (because Huk is doing what it takes to be the best -- more foreigners need to make the same kind of sacrifices and put in the same kind of effort if they want to be top).

To fail: I don't really want anyone to fail, seems kind of harsh. That said, I think Destiny is overrated, and any respect I had for EG has completely gone, not that I've ever been much of a fan of incontrol or Idra.

edit: I guess included with HuK, I'd like to see the FXO guys who have been training in Korea do well.

god so much people i want to put in there

Do well:

Liquid in general. I'm a fanboy. Tyler/Haypro, those two seem to be extremely good in practice and always kinda choke in live events I would be so happy to see them do well, especially Haypro, a little bit of confidence could be what he misses to get to show what he is really worth.
Jinro, is there seriously anyone who doesnt like him?
TLO, a come back from his injury would be so great :D
Huk, has been a beast lately, can he keep going on?

FXO, Qxc in particular, since hes going back to school, I'd be really happy if his Korean practice could pay off before the benefits starts to wear off because of school. I know the other players of FXO a bit less, but same thing than for qxc, It would be nice to see Korean practice pay off

Destiny, I'm not really a fanboy, but I enjoy his stream from time to time, plus he seems to have improved a lot lately, and it could be nice for him to show that he's more than just a stream-clown

To do not so well:

Incontrol, never really like him, i mean, I dont hate him, some of the stuff he did was great, but it feels that lately he focuses more on the marketing aspect of the game as opposed to actual playing and practice, has become not so good as a result and every MLG he plays kinda cheesy and manages to stay into the seeded pool play. Time to move on and leave the spots to better players.

Idra, because rage makes me laugh.

The Koreans (except Boxer ), well not really. Its more that i'd like their opponents to do well than the Koreans playing bad.

Okay here are my thoughts:

To Succeed:
1. Slayers_Boxer
2. IMMVP
3. Koreans in general - funny right? I'd actually be very happy if koreans own the tournament again. Go go korean top 5 this time!

To Fail:
1. Destiny
2. Spanishiwa
3. Idra - and I don't mean to go out early. I actually hope that he goes pretty far and then fails in some hilarious manner like the previous MLG vs MMA or the 0:4 vs MC. These were some of best moments of last MLG for me

Cool topic btw, I had fun reading most of it.

Success
  • DRG - So talented and I really want him to claim the Code S spot so I can continue to watch amazing games from him. I've been a fan of his since watching him stream a couple of months ago.
  • Ret - With monstrous macro I hope to see a top finish in Anaheim. It was sad to see him get knocked out by Puma in 2 very fast games at the NASL finals, I wanted to see more of his play.
  • Boxr - The Emperor dominating Anaheim and claiming first place would be the most awesome thing ever. Even though this is probably not going to happen i'm hoping he'll slay some nerds now that he got dropped down from Code A.

Failure
  • Major - For a lot of reasons, one being his shitty attitude.

To win:

QXC: been a fan of this guy for a long time, glad he is finally reaping the benefits of training in korea and I'm glad he's finally getting some credit.
Kawaiirice: beat zenexcoca yesterday in tl open in a macro game, hope he can do as well at mlg
Jinro: been slumping recently, I want the return of the neo gorilla terran!

To lose:
Major:attitude, similar to what people have been saying.
Idra: been slacking since he left korea, recent results have seemed to catch up to him, and his playstyle is stagnant. I was a fan in bw but his incessant whining about balance has made me somewhat of an anti-fan.

People ill be watching, but am neutral on:
Destiny: recent online results have been good, but lost round 1 last time around. Will he get a good tournament result finally?
Select: recent performance has been a mixed bag, which select will show up to anaheim?

Too many awesome players going... I have a hard time finding just 3 I want to do well T.T

But if I have to choose 3:

1. Naniwa. I really like the guy's approach to the game. Seing him describe himself in his stream thread as "TSL-loser" convinced me that this guy is a true champion, and I know that he has the will to go far in Korea. Besides his personality, he's an amazing player.

2. The Emperor. I don't think this one needs to be argued. Would love to see him in GSL again.

3. DongRaeGu. His play has been so impressive in the team league. It's wierd that he hasn't been able to qualify for code a, but i wouldn't mind seeing him go straight to code s.

Other awesome people: qxc, Jinro, MVP, White-Ra, MMA, IdrA, Ret.

I don't really want anyone to do badly.

To "fail" :
I don't have anyone in particular, but I would like to see some koreans lose to foreigners, I don't want a korean top5.

What a terrible OP... Spanishiwa is hardly overrated, no one is going around saying he is the best player ever or anything, and he is the first to admit he is nowhere near the best.

You obviously don't read Youtube comments (or haven't watched certain videos).

Whenever Husky posts a video that has Spanishiwa in it, the comments are pretty much exactly as I described in my original post.

Anyway, so far the responses have been varied, and that pretty much mirrors the original topic. No flame wars broke out in the last topic so I trust we can keep it the same here. Looking good so far, fellas.

this thread is awful. The logic behind why people want spanishiwa to fail is plain stupid.
He's liked, therefore you want him to lose.

MC is liked, I don't see many people on this forum who would want him to fail in tournaments. You actually get shit when you say "glad MC lost" or "I would really prefer Huk to lose".

For the record, Spanishiwa has a tremendous amount of respect for all playersThat's why I like the man. Don't really care about "his" build, or the way Husky protrays him.
Whitera is one of the most liked progamers, and no one wants him to fail.

If you don't like the way his fan base think of him, blame his fan base (by all mean, blame Day[9] too, since he's made a couple daily about him and help grow his fans number). The man has nothing to do with it.

Back on topic.
People I want to win
Any zerg player, because they are better players. And bias has nothing to do with that opinion.

People I want to lose
DRG : talented zerg player. why should he do anything other than get crushed
whitera : the man is too friendly. he deserves to lose
boxer : he's done way too much for the community. one of the most liked progamer of all time.hope he loses very badly
When you play the game of drones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground. Huge IMLosirA fan.

Ye, same here. Machine is a super nice guy and doesn't get involved in any bullshit, he should be the last to bear the burden of EG's current reputation.
