Puma got a better contract, but lost a team-house practice environment. If he doesn't find a quality practice environment, he won't be worth another contract. Also, he showed that he lacked loyalty which may come into play if another team considers picking him up. (I know a bunch of ppl will say loyalty doesn't mean shit but it does)

Seriously, inalmost every sport its like this: Team talks to player -> player talks to his own team -> teams agree on transfer fee -> player changes teams - usually we just dont hear about the "team approches player" state, cuz nobody cares/its normal. You are wrong here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampering_(sport) And rules/ethics in Korea might be even different and should be respected as well.

Managers in sc2 work just like managers in other sports. An agent strictly works on deals for his player and talks to teams about getting his player signed and will come in and mediate between managers if a trade is on the horizon (not usually though, its more like when a team wants to trade a player or the player wants to be traded and the agent has the go ahead to look for a trade). The players in sc2 are their own agents. Managers are nothing like agents. Even in acquiring players from other teams, they are still like a sports manager making trades.

Being a better coach or being closer to your players and doing better to give them what they need is a good way to stop your players from getting stolen. I suggest TSL coach do that if he likes, but not try to put blame elsewhere. Your post is indicative as to why modern sports are so terrible. For the last ten years or so all you hear about is someone's contract or who has the option and then when the player doesnt get what they want they dont play... they hold out and fuck everyone else over. Its pretty sad to see the prima donna attitude show up in SC2 before it even sprouts wings.

"There needs to be a system to stop foreign teams from stealing Korean players like this" If teams wish to keep their players, then write a contract. The player gets room, board, a modest salary possibly in exchange for 6 months to a year of loyalty.

Not the contract that you are alluding to. The way in which you addressed this was as if it was a binding contract. The only contract they have is that they pay them, the player can do whatever he wants, leave the team whenever he wants. Its free roam

Quite well becomes "not enough" pretty quickly when someone else with more money comes knocking. 30k for FD, 27k for Tester, and since he's better than both I'm assuming comparable money, and certainly more than EG can afford.

Do you guys not remember all the interviews of the Korean players who give credit to players for helping them practice? Most of the time they mention players OUTSIDE their team. Yeah, but I was thinking that based off the sort of culture you see from the SlayerSJessica thing, this could impact him socially over there. I don't know what other players think of this but at least the fans are going to give him crap.

Some people don't understand how business works or are personally against players making decisions for themselves. If PuMa was offered more money and TSL couldn't pay it, why shouldn't he be allowed to move?
