-EG was totally wrong in their approach -Milkis was generally correct on most of his points however the whole "journalistic accountability" can even be shown in the whole Slayers_Jessica thing too. and I think it applies here -Alex Garfield layed out his points pretty cut and dry, I'm upset he didn't admit as much fault into their approach, I felt he sidestepped his approach, but he did make good points on other things - Half the people in this thread that are getting so worked up as to call Djwheat anything other than a devils advocate need to calm down and step back.

Milkis translates article, people (including Milkis) ask for EG's response on twitter, EG keeps quiet for a whole day (aside from INcontroL trolling with silly tweets), then EG blames Milkis for faulty journalism. /facepalm. Milkis tweeted Scoot's personal twitter asking for a response. He didn't tweet the TSL Coach's personal twitter did he? There's other ways to contact people than through public personal twitter accounts. Milkis made no attempt to contact anyone in private. Isn't scoots on his way to chino? Anyway, its not milkis' responsibility to get a statement from eg. If they had contacted him with a statement which he chose to omit it would be a different story.

Lots of media can have vast repercussions on other organizations (e.g., celebrity tweeting about something, correctly or incorrectly).

1. if EG had actually published a statement in the last 12 hours it would of been edited into the OP 2. the only reason AG asked for this was because who made the post, not why. if a random TL user had posted this the thread would of still blown up but he wouldnt be crying that milkis isnt being fair. 3. it was only a month ago that EG used the defence "its not our place to talk for others, we make our statements and others should make theirs" in defence of the EG-TL drama storm. you cant take that defence then claim that TL, as a company above being just a forum, needs to ask you about your position before every piece of news

You know like any of us. But to be fair, when Milkis then continues on to say things like "if you don't understand why this is such a big deal, then you just don't understand Korean culture" in a pretty condescending manner. It's obvious that Milkis was very biased in how he carried out the whole thing.

On July 22 2011 09:58 Tula wrote: tbh Milkis on this point you are pretty much wrong. If you post something inflamatory according to your opinion, you need to give both parties a chance to comment. You say why should we contact EG, we are volunteers etc. etc. Well actually thats a part of western culture you seem to be ignoring fairly comfortably. It's considered very very rude for any newspaper to simply post one side of a story without giving the other side a chance to comment (even if that answer is often only a "no comment at this time"). And yes that is also an unwritten law for volunteers. Maybe you should consider THAT next time you stress that "we" need to pay attention to Korean culture. Maybe we do, and maybe we don't, but if we need to, than certainly so do you. If you translate a post to some extent it becomes yours, unless you clearly state that you have no opinion you just translated it. Closing note: If the Korean teams want to keep their players the answer is quite simple. Make them happy and pay them well. If they don't they WILL be poached as soon as they are not protected by contracts and no amount of crying that that isn't fair will protect them from it. From the sound of it, you don't know how journalism works. Sensationalism 101 There are many journalists out there who don't get all the facts. The Korean culture is very different from the Western world. Everyone should have a little respect for each other. The business structures are different. At the end of the day, business is business. It was under the table. There was no contact with Lee or anyone else in TSL.

It wasn't wrong of Eg to not consult TSL because TSL shouldn't have a say in the matter. It's Puma decision to make. What matters most is that the players should come first and if Puma decides that EG is better for him than there shouldn't be an issue if there are no legal problems. Why should E-Sports be different to every single thing in the world ever regarding a contract.
