Honestly, I hope this gets Korean teams / Korean SC2 scene to panic. The foreigner scene is becoming bigger by the day, and if Korea only has the GSL, then Korean players will leave to make more money, (And play more games / tourneys!!!).
Please Korea. More SC2 Tourneys, more money. You need to do it, for the sake of korean sc2 e-sports
PS. Great pickup by my favourite esports team! Idra and Puma on one team! wow. Scary!! Guess whos gonna win the next EG masters cup!!

Wow, almost feels like NASL was one big recruiting tool run by Incontrol....
Obviously it wasn't, but wow. I really feel bad for TSL. Everyone seems to be leaving them these days. I hope Clide will stay true to the cause!
|
This makes me wonder if there's something amiss in the TSL house / roster if 4 of it's best players now have left the team to pursue other teams. Rain to Fanatic, Trickster and FD to StarTale and now Puma to EG?
|
Wow amazing move by EG. Puma will make EG just as good if not better than most foreign teams. This will drastically increase their chances in clan wars. I hope to see Puma in more foreign events stemming from this point on. Also, I wonder if Puma will stay in Korea and compete for a GSL spot, or come over to the EG house and practice with the team. If so I can't wait to see the entire team improve their skills.

Yeah idra and now puma..
2 players instead of 1 that can win shit
SUPER SCARY

Good for puma, looks like he is getting what he deserves.
That is the globalization of SC2 for you, the koreans can't just compete with the other korean teams and have low salaries anymore. Now they have to worry about the foreigners flashing their wallets at the players.
This may be bad bushiness practice and it may bite EG later and it certainly hurts TSL but you know who it helps. The players.

If that was the case then give iNcontrol a monocle because he is an evil genius. That would be absurdly funny if it could possibly be true.

Puma easily could've said, no thank you, i am very happy with TSL. Uh what? If a player were under contract with the Yankees, he would NOT be able to talk to the Red Sox about employment. That is called tampering. It's forbidden in every relevant professional sport.

Does this mean he'll remain in Korea, rather than heading to the EG house? I really hope so, for his sake. Players practice with their teams and friends, eg. Byun practicing with MKP, SC, etc. But if Puma's in America, he can't, lag doesn't allow for a stable training environment. The only decent team mate he could practice with would be Idra, and even then, lower than what was on offer in Korea.
Considering EG is known for having flexible contracts there's not a doubt in my mind PuMa will stay in Korea....
|
He's obviously not going to live in the U.S. He may visit for times but he's obviously going to stay in Korea and just be flown out for tournaments on EG's dime. There's zero reason for him to permanently move.

iNcontroL didn't run the tournament. He was only a caster.

i love how people say " stop stealing korean players and foreigner teams" like really you have a video game and that gives you the right to act superior.......its a game

I can't believe the way that people are overreacting to this. EG did everything right here. If SC2 is going to grow it has to make money, and that means we have to accept it when players get dealt. Yes it has to do with money, and that's because this is a business.
We like to pretend that these are just games, but ultimately it is entertainment that people invest money in, like a TV show. If TSL wanted to protect Puma as a player, then he would have had a better contract with more of his wishes met or with trading clauses. TSL didn't take the necessary precautions, and therefore this is their failure.
EG didn't do anything dirty by talking to the player if there were no rules against it, as there are in the NBA, etc. If there WERE rules against it then TSL could take countermeasures. But at the end of the day this was Puma's decision and I fail to see why it's morally wrong to offer a player a better contract.
What were they supposed to say to TSL anyway? Hey, we want to offer your (best) player a better contract than you and see if he'll leave? Is that cool?

wow...I Love PuMa and I.......Dislike......EG Not sure whether it's good or bad news!! Certainly fairly dodgy from EG, but I don't see how you can slam PuMa for wanting to make a better living. Not sure what'd be worse for PuMa, being alone in Korea, or coming to the EG house and stomping the likes of Incontrol.
Edit- Also glad PuMa wasn't on my fantasy team Was pretty mad at myself for not picking him at the start of the season even though I knew he owned.

Oh I very much doubt that

He's under no obligation to remain with TSL after his contract expires. THIS. The only other situation i can see is that puma went to the coach and said "i want to go to EG", and even though he was still under contract, the coach allowed him to go and released him from his contract. I don't see anything shady about this. Its up to the player. Nothing was stolen. Players are not some kind of currency, its up to them what team they want to play on.
Players are not currency, but their contracts are.
You can't simply approach a player directly (in any sport) who has a running contract. You have to approach the team. Sadly there is no policy in e-sports yet, so it`s just against ethics.
But we need more information about this before discussing this seriously.

theres obviously something rotten going on inside TSL, everyone seems to want out lately

Puma isnt like a piece of meat, he does whats, its fucked up TSL would treat him like they own him, and hell they arent even paying him

Now Koreans will never come to USA. If they do, we will steal korean players Lol.
