its kinda lame to give birth to a player and watch him get stolen but meh w/e
Imagine this as the Lebron James to Miami deal

how outrageous for a player to need money to pursue his passion.

And now TSL is going to get KeSPA into sc2?

another fantastic job by Scoots and the gang Great job picking up an amazing Korean player into a wonderful foreign organization.
EG FIGHTING!!!

I dunno if puma is gonna have as good of training partners now though... which could hurt him in the long run.

There's no bad blood. Choya approached FXO with the idea. It wasn't some kind of hostile takeover of fou. The deal benefits everyone.

Coach Lee is such a legit guy. In this situation I can see where he's coming from. I think I'd be correct by assuming that teams are a much more organized operation in Korea and moves like this probably don't play out in this fashion all too often. IMO, Coach Lee was probably really shocked when they didn't discuss anything with him first because that's just what is practiced there.

That was done in good agreement (and tbh it almost sounded like fou wanted fxo to sponsor them, especially choya)
You said the same thing he said.

Whatever you may think about EG's management after this and a recent string of preceived PR disasters, one thing is for sure, they know how to get things done; and consider this: when it comes down to it, leaving TSL was Puma's decision. At this point it's hard to make judgement on anyone without knowing the contractual obligations of all the parties involved.
We need more information!

Okay TIME OUT.
The Korean community has no right to be angry.
If they would just start watching SC2 to the same extent as the foreign community, then these players wouldn't actually have to go outside of Korea looking for a paycheck.
|
I feel kinda bad for tsl team league wise, but that is a really nice pickup for eg.
Edit: dohiy there isnt nearly enough info for you to pass such harsh judgments like that lol, such a massive over reaction XD. To say you lost all respect for a guy that showed us some of the best tvp games ever at nasl, is completely ludicrous. (he had to go through that giant open bracket tourney ffs)

Axslav flies under the radar but he's okay. EG's main failures are iNcontroL and Machine, have they ever actually done well in anything...ever?
I have no idea where you got this from. Let me look something up for you:
Demuslim: Winner IEM Europe, Warcraft 3 background Axslav: 4th Place IPL, War3 background iNcontroL: 4th Place MLG Dallas, 1st place WCG USA 2007 Machine: 4th Place SC reddit invitational, 6th Place MLG Dallas, 2008 4th place WCG USA
No idea why I just spent so much time disproving a random flamer, but as you can see, if anything, Machine and iNcontroL have posted better results then Demuslim and Axslav, which you were apparently very ignorant to.
As for the Puma acquisition, I really hope that that is not TSL's official stance, EG has every right to court Puma without going through the coaches, it's not like they own him.

Koreans are under salaried in Starcraft 2. IMHO.
This kind of thing is natural. It is part of the merger between foreigner and Korean worlds where only the strongest players will be left over.
That being said. I would not mind the creation of an organization that places a worth value on players heads making them unable to move out of that team unless the value of that player is paid for.
I am on the side of the players. They shouldn't have to live in terrible conditions if they are also working 12 hour days.

Nono, I wasn't implying FXO acquiring fOU was underhand at all - just saying that it was big news.
The bad blood I'm referring to is EG and TSL.

To be honest, with the shady shit that went down with SotG and ITG; and this story, I'm not sure if I'm an EG fan anymore. Wonder what grand story EG is weaving to explain this.
|
The coach is speaking from emotions, rightfully so, but ultimately I dont feel like EG "stole" puma.
This is most likely a straight forward business decision from both sides. TSL not being able to afford Puma after FD and Trickster leaving probably means theyre about to go under.

TSL basically has to play killer clide alive and revival every team league game they are taking super serious ie. not trying to field rookies. I do agree though that signing puma like that is a rather underhanded tactic.

FXO getting fOu is nothing like this. Choya and the FXO team are friends. The teams are friends. fOu didn't have that great of funds, so FXO fused the teams together, and now the talent level on FXO is higher and money isn't an issue anymore for the former fOu members.
But this could really start a real big shitstorm. I don't think Korean teams/managers will take kindly to this.
