Right now it's only for those willing to spend the money.
Well technically the PC bangs can register their own copies of the games and just login their users who want to play the games. They wouldn't even need to pay some funky commercial license. I used to go to a internet cafe (run by koreans mind you) and they would do that for a some games. That's what a lot of them did for BW where they would buy a lot of CD keys. BW cdkeys are just dirt cheap right now, so if your users don't ask for SC2 you might not be inclined to buy some for your business. It's unpopular for a lot of other reasons.
I'm just wondering how hard the next contract session is going to hit...

I hope is just a start =)

Good for StarCraft II. 8)

But I wonder what OGN actually broadcasts the whole day. They have proleague and now starleague again but how can they be high ranked among tv channels if they just have these two events? What do they broadcast the rest of the day?

They run all sorts of random gaming related programs. Ever see those commercials that are like...the casters answering random questions and stuff?
I remember watching OGN one night and the streamer left the TV channel going cause they went to bed and we were watching all these guys try to do various "challenges" in games. Like a guy being Super Mario 3, every level, without losing a life, speedruns of bubble bobble, that kind of thing.
I enjoyed what I saw of the OGN channel when SC wasn't the thing being broadcast.

All I can say is that this is awesome

Oh wow that's good news, hopefully it'll help sc2 get a bit more popularity in Korea Now all we need are good players and a good bracket so that people can really grasp sc2's potential.

This is just for WCG , They won't be able to air any more SC2 content until the agreement with Blizzard expires.

HUGE announcement !
I really hope this is the start of the transition ! You have no idea how I want to see Flash play SC2 !

Why would Flash move to SC2 because it gained popularity.
You realize he makes a lot of money on his salary alone. Add on his tournament winnings. Sure, he could swap to SC2 because it's "more popular" but he'll lose his really good paycheck.
Swapping to SC2 from BW right now is like swapping to a job that pays a ton less, when you're in love with your current high paying job. Why would you do it? - in Flash's case, at least.
The other BW pros that migrated over are doing well, and they are making more by prize money than salaried on their other teams (possibly. They weren't winning shit in BW tournaments in any case). It makes no sense for Flash, but it could make sense for like...Juni or Perfectman or something.

sounds great. hopefully blizzard and ogn and mbcgame can come to terms much much sooner

This is massive for SC2 in Korea. Its popularity isn't huge there, but I think once OGN and MBC start airing it fans will follow.

I think milkis is right you shouldn't read too much into it, but maybe its a step in the right direction?

I think he's talking less about the players making a switch on an individual basis, like MC, and more like the infrastructure making a switch. Of course its just speculation, but I would imagine that players with contracts now would have to be bought out of them, if the BW scene transferred to SC2.
