I get your point, however, I think at this stage, you can. This is E-sports after, not MLB, and the FoU name is bigger as an entity then any player on the team. Its got a great well rounded team of players who can all compete at the highest level. But each player is not going to a huge cheque as a salary. I think FXO just leapt at the opportunity to get into something at a cost effeciency. And FoU is a great team to do that with.
Well, if you can acquire a team then yes you can buy the talent sort of. This takes FXO from a fringe team to a contender instantly. But I still don't believe there is enough talent not under contract to rival top Code S(MC, Nestea, etcetera) players. As BW player contracts come up, perhaps though they'll have to catch up. Outside of Korea I just don't see any talent available requiring teams to build those players or poach other teams. Complexity seems to be attempting that grow your own talent the most. At least from my impression of what I hear, I really don't follow them close enough.
Great move by FXO though. FXOleenockf0u =)

So, asdfOu will need a new name.
FXOp[] maybe? Or if we wrap around, FXOpqwe?

Does imba.FXO do anything internationally? Strelok and Lowely are the only imba players I know of

I think this is great news but I honestly don't see how living in a practice house in Malaysia would be beneficial compared to living anywhere else outside of Korea. Unless they want their team members to be isolated so they can focus on practicing I don't understand that decision.

FXO actually at this point I would value (before the fOu merger) as not only the more valuable team, but probably a hell lot more profitable also. would be interested to know what figures you have. they (team/players) haven't won anything afaik. they've just been incuring expenditure staying in korea and flying all over. i really question how much this will help the fxo.international team. i'm happy for fOu and choya. seems a great coach and fella. but i dont miss his play
Just throwing this out there, most teams don't make their money from tournament winnings but instead from sponsors....

Uh oh incoming name change for 50% of f0u clan TT

Actually a really good pickup for FXO. Plus more the more Korea and foreigners keep mixing together, the better Starcraft 2 games we will see.

If you can't beat'em. Buy'em.

so are the "old" FXO guys going to still participate in GSTL, or are they going to leave given that the "new" FXO (fOu) is still around
or are they fusing the two teams?
EDIT:
herp derp
Players in all of FXO will be eligable for the team league based on internal rankings, and at the same time, the ex fOu house is made available to the rest of FXO. Thus FXO has 2 team locations available to them in Asia.

Didn't they just absorb ROOT Gaming? Like a few weeks ago?
Hardly growing their own talent. I mean they are, but they aren't relying on it.

This is pretty awesome news and a huge opportunity for both the original FXO guys being able to stay in Korea longer and have a team to live and train with as well as the fOu guys now have the opportunity to attend foreign tournaments and branch themselves outside Korea.
Great stuff from FXO. They are going to be scary good now.
|
Now i am not sure if FXO is considered as a foreign team completely since they have more than half the members being korean

FXOLeenock
Cool pickup. FXO with endless cash it seems, even in our economy. Great work to all involved.

Okay, we need to deal with "TheBestfOu"'s name. Can he be FXOChobo?

Whoa this is awesome! This probably means we will see sC at more foreign events! Hopefully the fOu team gets cooler outfits though. I was never a fan of the black Tshirt with the orange across the belly.

hope they'll send sC and Leenock to MLG or other foreign tournaments

The only problem is that the fOu house is packed, it'll be tough for another foreigner to fit in.
