Depends what show you watch, but 99.999% of the time you're watching a month old tournament, so all the hole cards are shown. As this is still in progress they very rarely show hole cards as people will receive updates via phone that "you got bluffed in this hand he had X" and it can cahnge the whole tournament. The initial idea here was to show holecards, but a lot of player objection seems to of stopped that, not heard the official line though, although a few hands are still being shown even without showdown.

They aren't showing the hands in this WSOP because the event is being broadcasted live, and as such they are trying to prevent cheating. I think this is the first event that has been broadcasted live ever, so it's a very big deal as well as uncharted territory.

Cameras are there, little holes next to their chipstacks. Looks like a black circle on the side of the table

here is an interview with kiwi by askjoshy. the first minute goes through his gaming/poker history and why he plays sc2 now instead of poker.

Well if they dont have it, they cant recieve texts telling them the hands, thus allowing the live viewers to see them online?

Then they just as easily have a friend sat in the audience who they walk over to every 30seconds to get the info :D Or a friend near entrance etc

It's not the first event broadcasted live, but it's the first time the WSOP has. It is somewhat uncharted territory though, because afaik, the first event broadcasted live was the PCA in January, so it's not like poker is super experienced in it. In this case though, the feed is delayed 30 minutes to prevent people from having others watch and text them cards or whatever.

Carter King just "shoved" all in. Is that him saying I could have shit I could have something nice but do you really want to decide your tournament life on a coin flip?

Wouldnt that be really obv? Then they could kick that guy out for cheating, and kick the other guy out of the venue.

That was before the flop I think.
He's the shortest stack, he could just be stealing the blinds to add ~8% to his chip stack, or he could have a monster and be looking to double up. It's very easy to flip when short to try get a double, impossible to know if he had 2high or AA
