I'm from Pennsylvania (east coast USA) and I can play very well. My stutterstep micro and split micro will take some practice to get down with 200 latency.
Having tons of fun. Whats your league in NA? Are you finding its more difficult on the KR server?
Im platinum on NA with a ~60-70% win rate.
At gold level play, you can see that KR has a more aggressive play style and dont GG as early/easily as NA, but it's hard to tell if it's harder with so few games played.
I will say this though:
TvT: iEchoic build works more effectively at this level of play than on NA TvP: Marine/marauder+concussive 2rax pressure is hard when toss is super aggressive and better micro than me (90% win rate when i do this pressure on NA) TvZ: Only played 2 TvZ but the aggressiveness seems to be exploitable. Overcommit w/ muta harass even with many thor on field
EDIT: A lot of proxy rax/gateways. Deception is their best strategy o_O

Wow, a 70% win rate? I thought that everybody's win ratio trends towards 50% unless you are GM.
|
Which chat channel you guys are in on TW/KR server?
|
Channel is teamliquid obviously... yesterday I think it peaked at like 7 people though, there aren't that many people doing this. I am personally having a blast though... plus I like the idea of playing in KR for a while before even trying the NA ladder again, just to see what happens. (1600 pt. master last season in NA, still have to finish placement matches in KR)

If you're starting a fresh new account (which is the case for people going abroad in servers) and are actually decent at the game, you'll accomplish 70-80% win ratio easily... until you finally start playing players your level. Only difference is where you end up placing in leagues.
Really, don't expect to play against GSL stars until you can actually win all the way up there.

Is anybody else unable to log on TW server after patch 1.3.6 (the one that just came out)?????!!!!! =(
(First message)
(Second message)
EDIT: i found the following on a TL Bnet status thread!
This indicates that the Korean server (which the TW server is now part of) is down until 10am Korean time (8PM CDT), so a little over an hour from now (as of this edit). The downtime is due to investigation into errors caused by patch 1.3.6 (ie: exactly what I ran into! ^.^)

I'm getting the same pair of messages as Shenaniguns. The first image reads "Temporarily unable to connect to Battle.net. Please check your internet connection."
The second reads "You require a language pack authorized by blizzard entertainment to use this language."
The first sounds like it might just be a temporary server outage. The second I'm not sure how to fix. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a Korean characters name on the TW client? It doesn't seem to be allowing me to type in there.
Basically I'm trying to type in a name in Korean but it won't work, seems like only Latin characters and Chinese work.

So I got the TW account with no problems and logged on once a few days ago and it worked fine. Now I'm getting what seems to be an error message before the login screen comes up and then it just has my email address with no box for the password. Does anyone know what error this is? Does it have to do with a problem downloading the new patch maybe? I haven't been able to find anything with the digging I've done so far.

Not quite sure what I'm doing wrong here. I bought the game off the site mentioned but none of the codes it gave me work when i try to add it in Battlenet. Is there a step I'm missing here?
Edit: I'm a total fool!, all works now. Thanks Op and other posters :D

Give the ccgamers link a chance. I couldn't pay through the Mycard site nor the Offgamers site (Paypal got refunded for some unknown reason despite phone verification), so I tried ccgamers which gave me my Battle.net 1150 Point Card about an hour after the Paypal transaction went through. It seems kinda dodgy at first but it turned out fine for me (your mileage, of course, may vary).

Can I log in the Korean client with a TW account?
|
On July 31 2011 01:15 zedest wrote: Can I log in the Korean client with a TW account? if you relocalize... you cant use a TW account to log into the korean version.
You dont need to though, just log onto TW as they share the same ladder

Hey guys, before buying the TW SC2 I want to make sure that I have a nice ping. I know that my ISP is very bad but I'm from Eastern EU - Bulgaria and that's not as far as many people are to KR/TW server's location somewhere in Korea.
Is there a way to ping the servers. I had some success with tracert ( in cmd ) but I don't think that it's accurate enough when you don't know which of the IPs is the servers' ones.
Any help would be needed

Pingtest.net and ping their server in Seoul, Korea. It's not exactly Battle.net but everyone seems to believe that to be a good enough solution.
