Follow these directions these are the ones I followed and it went flawlessly...starting at step 12 if you use offgamers...(i used the offgamers site in the OP to purchase the mycard points, and would recommend them over the ccgameshop as ppl in this thread seem to be having better luck and faster reply from offgamers)

Pm me if you have any questions/issues, off to work now but will be home in about 6 hours if ya need help

Okay I finally bought it and got it working. The only issue I got is that the site in the OP had it out of stock, so I got it from http://www.ccgameshop.com.hk/goods.php?id=2015.

Here are the steps that I followed. I have an account working, downloaded the client from Blizzard and am playing now in the Taiwanese server. (Note: I recommend to use google chrome to get the site it translated from Chinese, since you can get the site translated without affecting the scripting functionality. I tried other translation tools and broke the site for me and I couldn't complete the purchase.)

Important note: I used the process outlined below with Paypal. Do note that your Paypal account needs to have been "verified". The ccgameshop site requires it. If you don't have your Paypal account verified, then the order will go through, but then you will have to provide proof to the Chinese site that in fact it is you who own the account since your paypal order will appear to come from an account that is not verified. And until that proof is given you'll get nothing in return. I'd recommend you verify the account through Paypal itself (it is usually a process where they give you a phone call with a code so you can entere it in the paypal site itself). That way the verification is through Paypal and not a games site. Another thing is that you can call or email the site Chinese site itself to let them know if you are stuck in the transaction and provide the order number from the member center as well as the paypal confirmation number. They have limited English, but I managed to get the message across.

1. Register and create an account in ccgameshop.com.hk.
2. Once logged in, go into the member center within ccgameshop and click on "send verification email" so that an email can be sent to your email to verify the account.
3. Go to your email and check for the mail from them. Most likely it will go into your junk folder since it contains many Chinese characters. This took about 5 minutes to get.
4. Click on the link in that email and then you will get your account verified. If you go to the user center it will now say that "you are a registered user level".
5. Now go into the link http://www.ccgameshop.com.hk/goods.php?id=2015 to purchase this 1150 BNET points card.
6. Click on the "add to shopping cart".
7. Click to "check out".
8. It will ask you to enter your name and address. I put USA/Canada as region and Central America for the second drop down. Third drop down nothing populated so I left it like that. All fields must be filled, so I put "Nothing" under landmark and "Anytime" in delivery time. Also you ahve to use the format 1555123456 for the phone number and must be the same for both fields.
9. Continue with the check-out process and you will get to select answer three questions:
a. Delivery method - Select "system sends you message" which means that if the item purchased is a virtual good or game card, they'll send you the code via email or in-site message.
b. Payment method - Select "paypal".
c. Other information - I put nothing here.
d. Submit order.
10. A button will appear that will send you to Paypal, click it.
11. Log into paypal and purchase the account. You will get confirmation from paypal that the item has been purchased.
12. Go to the member center and under "My order" you will see an item with Order number, the amount paid (in this case 317.20 Yuan for now) and Order status. It will take about 30-45 minutes from Paypal to give confirmation to CCgameshop.
13. Once the payment went through, it will take another 30-45 minutes for the site to send you the virtual number of the card. Once this confirmation happens, go into "My order" in the User Center and wait until it says "confirmed, paid". Then click in the link on the order number to show the details.
14. Within the "order status" click on "send/view businesses message" and you will see a message that gives you a serial number of about 25 digits.
15. Go to your NA BNET account and go to Starcraft and then account management. The link should be https://us.battle.net/account/management/
16. Go to the address bar in the browswer and change the us->tw so the link should read now https://tw.battle.net/account/management/index.xml. Nothing will change and the language is still in English, but now there is a dropdown in the right with "points" for your account balance.
17. Click on the account balance and select "recharge account option".
18. Enter the serial code you got from ccgameshop here. It will say "success" and you'll have 1150 points.
19. Return again to your account management https://tw.battle.net/account/management and select "buy digital games". Verify that you are in the Taiwan region in the top right. Click on Starcraft 2 and it will show the option to purchase trial or unlimited. Go for unlimited which costs exactly 1150.
20. Congratulations! You just purchased a Taiwanese account under your name, linked to the NA account that you have, and without having to give your creditcard and information to someone else.
21. Download the zhTW cliente (Chinese) or get a relocalizer.

Enjoy!

Anyone know if you will be able to sign in from the Korean Client when the servers merge? Or will you be forced to use Taiwan client or relocalize?

I did this too, but instead of playing the practice league, in the info panel when 1v1 is selected is a button you can press to leave the league and progress normally.

Yeah, I wanted to play in practice league to test the latency and I accidentally left it

No problem though, 5 - 0 in my placements, really easy, latency wasn't bad either.

441 ms is huge and you really can do micro, i m surprise at that

Considering the TW server is in Seoul, I'm not sure why it's relevant what his ping to TW is. You can stutter step just fine with marines if you get used to the latency. I play on NA about half the time, and once I can get accustomed to the latency, I don't really have any trouble with micro. It certainly doesn't help to have 200-250 ms, but it's not like it's full of loss.

Noli, theres plenty of documentation regarding the swap. If you are on TW you will be requested to choose a new name when the switch occurs, and your MMR will be reset. You do keep all of your portraits achievements etc. Players on KR stay with what they got, MMR and all. It's almost like a clean slate except for achievements and portraits for TW accounts.

Been playing on TW, bout 30 games in. After 20 games have gotten only GM players (went like 18-2 or something with 2 pvp losses). Kind of funny, I did my placement matches, won all 5, and was placed in platinum. So now i'm tearing up these tw GM players and if they look at my stats I look like some scrub. Kind of funny. The top tw GM's seem quite even to NA GM players. Played 3 or 4 top 50 and 6 or 7 top 150 so far, It's just how I feel about them so far. Got 52 points for my first gm win. I'm actually really shocked the ranking system pairs platinum players with GM hidden MMR or not I feel that's kinda broken. Nothing but GM for the past 12 or so games, sure there is the ladder lock but really? I'd rather just bash some masters or plat players for these last few days >.> . Never heard of StorM before playing a variety of their players on the ladder. They're pretty damn good.

I feel many of these tw players open sub-optimally from the rest of the world. Every gm pvz ive played the Z opens some like no gas spanishiwa (14p 16h?) style but without the extra queens and mass spinecrawler. Plus they take a real quick third (30 supply usually). I dont know how they get away with it, I can kill the expo with 3gate pressure after 2 warpins off 28/28 gates, or open 2gate voidray expand and get a free hatch, and sometimes straight up with with dt expand. with the 3gate expo you are vulnerable to ling counters but it's pretty map specific. perhaps they play vs forge expo every game.

I haven't lost to a TW GM player yet. The top GM TW's are not on the same level as the NA GM's.

last GM player i faced made 36 drones in the entire game. and I mean made. He probably was only mining with 25 or so.......

...

... what

It's no different than SEA as compared to NA or LA as compared to NA. The servers are so small and practically all the good players in those regions play on the bigger server.

Before I stopped playing on SEA, I had no trouble doing random cheeses on a lot of SEA's GMs. Moon went something like 51-0 at the beginning of this season, and he's a solid player, but he's not exactly one of the top players in the world.

Up until the server merge (and I expect there will be a surge in foreigners judging by this thread and the ease of getting TW account) top master/low GM on NA is equivalent to mid-high diamond on Korea.

Two of my good friends who are top 250 EU and top 250 NA respectively are struggling to make master for next season. It's not just the latency, but just the skill gap is so large on the server.

I'd say I'm a low-mid master level player for the most part, and it took several "games of my life" for me to finally get promoted into diamond.

Also, Excalibur told me that on "promotion day" on the major servers where the Master/Diamond and Bronze/Silver thresholds were shrunk and the entire ladder shifted down a few hundred points, Korea's actually went up, and a lot of players (including myself, but only for a few team leagues) actually got demoted.

So, not only are the players generally much better on the korean server up until the highest end of the ladder where the gap diminishes, but making Master on the Korean server is more difficult in general due to slightly higher cutoffs. (or at least that's the theory the last time I looked at MMR, which was right when promotion day happened)

But basically if you aren't GM or top masters, I think you'll find it difficult to make it into master 1v1, and if you aren't high GM, I think you'll find it difficult to make high master.

Code B/Top200 is so hyper-competitive with guys that have the luxury of practicing in team houses for 10-15 hours a day with guys who cook for them, pick up after them, and do their laundry, and unless you have that kind of time, you're not going to sniff the ~top 1000.

Yep, accurate price. When I bought it it showed I think 40.73 CAD, it cost my paypal exactly 40.73 CAD.

The displayed price is accurate.

Also michael, good point about Seoul, I didn't take that into consideration when testing my speeds. Though I guess lag to Taipei could be considered when you think of where most of my opponents are playing from ATM.

I was under the impression that client-side game-hosting was done away with after brood war. In what way does opponent's latency affect you and/or your latency?
