Follow these directions these are the ones I followed and it went flawlessly...starting at step 12 if you use offgamers...(i used the offgamers site in the OP to purchase the mycard points, and would recommend them over the ccgameshop as ppl in this thread seem to be having better luck and faster reply from offgamers)

That way the verification is through Paypal and not a games site. Another thing is that you can call or email the site Chinese site itself to let them know if you are stuck in the transaction and provide the order number from the member center as well as the paypal confirmation number. They have limited English, but I managed to get the message across.

1. Register and create an account in ccgameshop.com.hk.
2. Once logged in, go into the member center within ccgameshop and click on "send verification email" so that an email can be sent to your email to verify the account.
3. Go to your email and check for the mail from them. Most likely it will go into your junk folder since it contains many Chinese characters.This took about 5 minutes to get.
4. Click on the link in that email and then you will get your account verified. If you go to the user center it will now say that "you are a registered user level".
5. Now go into the link http://www.ccgameshop.com.hk/goods.php?id=2015 to purchase this 1150 BNET points card.
6. Click on the "add to shopping cart".
7. Click to "check out".
8. It will ask you to enter your name and address. I put USA/Canada as region and Central America for the second drop down. Third drop down nothing populated so I left it like that. All fields must be filled, so I put "Nothing" under landmark and "Anytime" in delivery time. Also you ahve to use the format 1555123456 for the phone number and must be the same for both fields.
9. Continue with the check-out process and you will get to select answer three questions:
a. Delivery method - Select "system sends you message" which means that if the item purchased is a virtual good or game card, they'll send you the code via email or in-site message.
b. Payment method - Select "paypal".
c. Other information - I put nothing here.
d. Submit order.
10. A button will appear that will send you to Paypal, click it.
11. Log into paypal and purchase the account. You will get confirmation from paypal that the item has been purchased.
12. Go to the member center and under "My order" you will see an item with Order number, the amount paid (in this case 317.20 Yuan for now) and Order status. It will take about 30-45 minutes from Paypal to give confirmation to CCgameshop.
13. Once the payment went through, it will take another 30-45 minutes for the site to send you the virtual number of the card. Once this confirmation happens, go into "My order" in the User Center and wait until it says "confirmed, paid". Then click in the link on the order number to show the details.
14. Within the "order status" click on "send/view businesses message" and you will see a message that gives you a serial number of about 25 digits.
15. Go to your NA BNET account and go to Starcraft and then account management. The link should be https://us.battle.net/account/management/
16. Go to the address bar in the browswer and change the us->tw so the link should read now https://tw.battle.net/account/management/index.xml. Nothing will change and the language is still in English, but now there is a dropdown in the right with "points" for your account balance.
17. Click on the account balance and select "recharge account option".
18. Enter the serial code you got from ccgameshop here. It will say "success" and you'll have 1150 points.
19. Return again to your account management https://tw.battle.net/account/management and select "buy digital games". Verify that you are in the Taiwan region in the top right. Click on Starcraft 2 and it will show the option to purchase trial or unlimited. Go for unlimited which costs exactly 1150.
20. Congratulations! You just purchased a Taiwanese account under your name, linked to the NA account that you have, and without having to give your creditcard and information to someone else.
21. Download the zhTW cliente (Chinese) or get a relocalizer.

Anyone know if you will be able to sign in from the Korean Client when the servers merge? Or will you be forced to use Taiwan client or relocalize?

Been playing past few hours on tw. 200ms at the most usually hovering 100-150 doesn't feel like there's any lag

Yeah, I wanted to play in practice league to test the latency and I accidentally left it

No problem though, 5 - 0 in my placements, really easy, latency wasn't bad either.

Just bought it off the CC website and it's been an hour and it is still saying "Not recognized, no payment, no deliver".

The only lag I get is the first few seconds at the start of every game but then it smooths out no problem at all.

Considering the TW server is in Seoul, I'm not sure why it's relevant what his ping to TW is. You can stutter step just fine with marines if you get used to the latency. I play on NA about half the time, and once I can get accustomed to the latency, I don't really have any trouble with micro. It certainly doesn't help to have 200-250 ms, but it's not like it's full of loss.

I feel many of these tw players open sub-optimally from the rest of the world. Every gm pvz ive played the Z opens some like no gas spanishiwa (14p 16h?) style but without the extra queens and mass spinecrawler. Plus they take a real quick third (30 supply usually). I dont know how they get away with it, I can kill the expo with 3gate pressure after 2 warpins off 28/28 gates, or open 2gate voidray expand and get a free hatch, and sometimes straight up with with dt expand. with the 3gate expo you are vulnerable to ling counters but it's pretty map specific. perhaps they play vs forge expo every game.



I haven't lost to a TW GM player yet. The top GM TW's are not on the same level as the NA GM's.

last GM player i faced made 36 drones in the entire game. and I mean made. He probably was only mining with 25 or so.......

It's no different than SEA as compared to NA or LA as compared to NA. The servers are so small and practically all the good players in those regions play on the bigger server.

Before I stopped playing on SEA, I had no trouble doing random cheeses on a lot of SEA's GMs. Moon went something like 51-0 at the beginning of this season, and he's a solid player, but he's not exactly one of the top players in the world.

Up until the server merge (and I expect there will be a surge in foreigners judging by this thread and the ease of getting TW account) top master/low GM on NA is equivalent to mid-high diamond on Korea.

Two of my good friends who are top 250 EU and top 250 NA respectively are struggling to make master for next season. It's not just the latency, but just the skill gap is so large on the server.

I'd say I'm a low-mid master level player for the most part, and it took several "games of my life" for me to finally get promoted into diamond.


Also, Excalibur told me that on "promotion day" on the major servers where the Master/Diamond and Bronze/Silver thresholds were shrunk and the entire ladder shifted down a few hundred points, Korea's actually went up, and a lot of players (including myself, but only for a few team leagues) actually got demoted.

So, not only are the players generally much better on the korean server up until the highest end of the ladder where the gap diminishes, but making Master on the Korean server is more difficult in general due to slightly higher cutoffs. (or at least that's the theory the last time I looked at MMR, which was right when promotion day happened)


But basically if you aren't GM or top masters, I think you'll find it difficult to make it into master 1v1, and if you aren't high GM, I think you'll find it difficult to make high master.

Code B/Top200 is so hyper-competitive with guys that have the luxury of practicing in team houses for 10-15 hours a day with guys who cook for them, pick up after them, and do their laundry, and unless you have that kind of time, you're not going to sniff the ~top 1000.

Yep, accurate price. When I bought it it showed I think 40.73 CAD, it cost my paypal exactly 40.73 CAD.

The displayed price is accurate.

Also michael, good point about Seoul, I didn't take that into consideration when testing my speeds. Though I guess lag to Taipei could be considered when you think of where most of my opponents are playing from ATM.

I was under the impression that client-side game-hosting was done away with after brood war. In what way does opponent's latency affect you and/or your latency?
