To be honest, that seems really silly. I've been to Blizzcon before and it is a huge majority of WoW players. And considering how quickly tickets sell out, there won't be NEARLY as many SC2 fans as there could be. I'm hoping that the GSL finals are somehow not bottlenecked by Blizzcon tickets. It'd be a shame if it was.

What is the point of holding it at blizzcon? Blizzcon tickets are already sold out before people even knew about this GSL thing. So it's not like they are earning any extra money. If they are going to host an event without expecting profit, why not make it absolutely free (outside of blizzcon)? Just hold it in California, FREE OF CHARGE, and I guarantee it will fill stadiums. If you doubt this, compare to MLG's price and venue (Ohio, $20). Whilst I'm at it, let's have Taylor Swift do the opener. Maybe we can fill a whole football stadium.

I do feel bad that a lot of hardcore SC2 fans will miss out on this is if it is during Blizzcon. I know a GSL finals down here could fill up a hall on its own anyday and I feel bad that those people who would go might not have that opportunity this way. You have to remember though, there is definitely some overlap for a lot of people. I know my brother is in a super top raiding guild in WoW, and when we go to Blizzcon he spends like 90%+ of his time watching SC2. It seems like a large part of his guild is the same way too, even outside Blizzcon (with GSL, MLG, etc).

I'm GUESSING that you will be able to watch the GSL portion of BlizzCon through GOMTV.net (LQ stream if you watch free and HQ if you buy a GSL ticket), but if you want to watch all of BlizzCon you would have to buy an online BlizzCon ticket.

Lol free of charge... you know there is a limit to how many people can fit in a convention center... hence purchasing your spot in it. No one doubts Blizzard can fill a stadium if they make it free because 10,000+ tickets they sell were sold out in less than 5 minutes at $175. The problem is you get a stampede of Blizzard fans if such an event was free.
