You will pay $5 for 4 days of play, but $25 for 25 days play is too much?
Hey would you look at that, a dollar a day. before you were paying $1.25. Um, yes, that is correct. You honestly think they'll be able to make the GSTL nearly as exciting over 2 months as they did over 4 days?
So what are you saying, they shouldn't charge as much because you assume they can't make it as exciting?
Also even if your assumption was true, what the hell does the perception of the excitment level has to do with they way GOM is pricing their events?

Why would there be walkovers? This is a Korean offline league. There were practically never any walkovers in BW proleague.
Sorry, I mean all kills.

$25 is a bit steep though "/ even though i have a job and plenty of money i dont think for a company that said they only charge for HQ/VoDs because they use the money from this to "improve" the stream so why change from $5 to $25 0.o doesnt make much sense!
Because they changed the format, and there will be a LOT more games, more casting, etc...
The last GSTLs were done within a week or two, this one will be over 2 months...

As pointed out, it's well worth it and the only shift in price is to make the tourney CHEAPER per day. It just seems like a lot because they're providing more content and asking for what seems like a lot all at once. Can't wait to see the upcoming GSTL!

Would have hesitated if this was something brand new or something with a questionable history, but since it's GOMTV and I know the awesome production value I'm buying it without complaints.

It's not like they changed the players / teams...
So, yes.

I'll just watch it for free in korean on my ipod :p

Soo sad i'll pass the acquisition of this tournament as well....it's really too much

quite expensive will have to think about it lol

Still not sure why people bitched about NASL's prices in the first place -__-

I think I'll buy it...the decision to turn this into a PL like affair and to put in nani and thorzain in is enough for me to feel that they care about us and what we want (or at least what I want lol) and that I should contribute in some way...
On a side note...I've never bought any of this...I buy the ticket...get HD quality and anything else? VODs right? And when do they "go away"? LOL or can I access them whenever I want them forever lol? Or is it just a DL system so Im keeping them to watch?
Thanks, sorry for the GOMnoob questions ^^

I think they just priced me out of it. When you think that the entire NASL season was the same price as a one month event, it becomes a bit of a hard decision. I know the gsl has a lot better games, but 25 dollars is a lot to pay for a month and a half of matches...
|
25 is a fair price, Its comparable to how much NASL tickets are and the production quality is much better. That said you should buy both. Tickets cant be ridiculously underpriced at 10 forever if we want GSL to be around in a couple years.

Thanks, sorry for the GOMnoob questions ^^ You get the HD VODs for the season you buy. If you decide in the future to stop buying the pass, then you will still be able to see the VODs for the seasons you bought the pass.

Actually if you look at from the amount of matches perspective, the cost is EXACTLY the same.
Old GSTL 7 matches for $5 New GSTL 35 matches for $25
7 x 5=35 $5 x 5=$25.

I agree, the price now of $25 for 25 days of play is worth more than when we were paying $5 for 4 days of team league play but you have to realize that dropping a larger sum of money at once feels a lot more daunting than dropping smaller sums of money over time. It shouldn't make a difference in the end but it feels like it does. People are not entirely rational beings.

If you count all the match dates of this GSTL:
Jun 23, Jun 24, 30th Jul 1st, 7th, 8th Jul 14th, Jul 15th, 21st, 22nd Aug 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th Sept 1st, Sept 2nd
That's 20 days worth of matches for $25.
Remember the previous GSTL? That one only lasted a week, between 5-7 games total. For $10.
Guys are you totally overreacting to sticker shock. I'm buying this, this is more value for the money.
I'll say this again just to make it very clear - you paid 10 bucks for 7 days(?) for the last GSTL. This $25 covers 20 days of GSTL. Is everyone clear?
Because seriously you guys are reacting as if you're paying $25 for 1 week of GSTL which is totally untrue and a knee-jerk reaction without getting all the facts straight.
*EDIT I didn't include the playoff matches, meaning that adds ANOTHER 5 days of match-ups. Seriously.

May I ask how? Or are you living in Korea? (I don't care about watching it on the iPod, just about accessing the Korean VODs.)
