You have to understand that Gomtv / Blizzard is hemmoraging money into the GSL, with not even close to enough return to be sustainable. They need to charge more for tickets (just like the NASL needs to charge people for the open bracket) on the off chance it can bring them closer to even. As a fan of eSports, it's completely understandable. If they need money to stay afloat, I genuinely hope they receive it. But as a spectator of GSL, I really can't see myself purchasing this. I hope everyone else does tho XD You've seen the financial reports? That's awesome, mind sharing them?

Lasting about 3 hours, that's about $18 dollars per hour of entertainment. Compared to other sports, the GSL is really a good deal for the amount of live content you get, plus access to the vods. Why would you even compare the two and not compare GSL before with GSL after? /facepalm

I personally have no issue with the low or high quality streams for Gom. For other leagues like MLG, IPL, NASL it can get really laggy for me on high quality due to my crappy internet connection. I watch those on low quality anyways. I will decide to pay for this ticket for the same reason I have kept on paying...to see amazing players. The amount of awesomeness from GSLs and GSTLs has been really up there. Sure GSL Code S finals always end up mediocre but each season it seems like there's at least 1 game where you watch something amazing happen. I agree a like yearly subscription would be the best. But this year is the first true GSL season year. I would think they want to adjust things on the go (as they have done) and try to improve and bring on more sponsors for the English stream side. The Korean stream side is free because the amount of sponsors allows them to provide it for free. I wouldn't mind a youtube style ad video at the start of each match on VODs. We're already used to it as consumers. Blip, youtube and justin.tv all do it. Perhaps next year things will have settled down for them to offer a yearly subscription service or perhaps not. But this is still the early days of the SC2 e-Sports scene.

Also, for me personally, the prices for tournaments are going up too high. I have bought the previous premium tickets always thinking "Its just a few bucks". Now I noticed that overtime it adds up to a good sum and my paypal account is empty. That being said, the only event I now even consider buying a premium ticket for is the team league. But 25$ seems a little costly to me, also considering all the free content there is. So I don't really know yet if it is gonna be worth it for me personally.

I never bought any tickets but i would strongly consider a monthly subscription for all GSL content, i don't want to pay a ticket for EACH event it just doesn't feel right ![]()
