Hes been one of the best players for a while now on a team that can't afford to give him a salary (at least i believe). Going to be very interested to see where he ends up. im pretty sure Kiwi is wealthy, didnt he used to be a pro poker player or something and made a bunch of money and thats why he could play sc2 fulltime when the beta came out? so i doubt a salary really means anything to him.

I just find it odd that the Two Canadians didnt join with the team (the ones living in Canada) and the American members did join.

I liked that it was a grass roots effort of players to create something on their own. It is easy to root (no pun ) for underdogs like that. Though from a practical standpoint must have been very hard to make it without solid $$ backing the endevor. Root did this for a reason so this might have been the alternative to a worse fate. Sad that Kiwi and Slush didn't make the jump, would love to hear the story there. Anyway I guess I'm a big Col fan now (beyond supporting col.Ryan! ) I feel like we need DJ Wheat to scoop this story of the negotiation!

It has nothing to do with them being Canadian or living in Canada.

We were finally in a situation where we had to assess where we were going with our "grassroots" movement and in the end decided this was the best for our players. Sadly, we tried very hard to keep the whole team together, but it wasn't able to happen - you will find out where KiWi and Slush are going soon - best of luck to them! where are slush and kiwi going? i wont leak obv

I'm sure that they couldn't join the team because they live in Canada and Complexity is an American organization. They more than likely would have to sponsor Slush and Kiwikaki with a visa I believe. There could also be contract implications based on that. That's why I believe that Complexity didn't pick them up. I'm sure complexity wants to stay as an American team and doesn't have the resources or doesn't want to have a contract with non US residents, and Kiwi/Slush don't want to move to America. Nah, the announcement implies that they wanted kiwi and slush to join and Catz is Peruvian so I don't think that's it.
