For why Kiwikaki and Slush didn't join the team probably isn't because they didn't want to. It's probably because they couldn't. I'm sure that they couldn't join the team because they live in Canada and Complexity is an American organization. They more than likely would have to sponsor Slush and Kiwikaki with a visa I believe. There could also be contract implications based on that. That's why I believe that Complexity didn't pick them up.

I'm sure complexity wants to stay as an American team and doesn't have the resources or doesn't want to have a contract with non US residents, and Kiwi/Slush don't want to move to America.

Woah! I wasn't expecting this at all, but it should be cool to see Complexity as a major team.

ROOT wouldn't hang their 2 best players out to dry like that.

At least I hope they wouldn't. =/

Today compLexity Gaming is thrilled to announce that we have acquired ROOT Gaming and the majority of the roster. For quite some time we have been pursuing this extremely talented group of gamers. Recently we were able to come to an agreement and we are very confident this is a large step in our journey towards greatness in StarCraft 2.

Edward Chang – Manager

Paulo “CatZ” Vizcarra
Andrew “drewbie” Moysey
Chad “Minigun” Jones
Steven “Destiny” Bonnell II
Jung Ho “DdoRo” Moon

As many of the ROOT faithful will notice, Kiwikaki and Slush chose not to make the move. We assure you that both compLexity and ROOT management made all possible efforts to keep the squad together. In the end they decided to pursue another opportunity and we wish them the best of luck.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this addition,” said Jason Lake, CEO of compLexity Gaming. “Building a championship division takes time, patience and the right combination of players and management. The intangibles this group possesses and the passion with which it engages StarCraft 2 will definitely get us that much closer to being a top global contender. We’re not done building our SC2 division, but this was a big leap forward.”

Edward Chang, Managing Director of ROOT Gaming had this to say: "We are very excited to join forces with compLexity Gaming. They've been a huge name for many years in many different fields, and I've personally known Jason for a long time. Joining up will help bolster the coL.SC2 roster and allow our players to focus on becoming the best in North America. We tried what we could to keep the team intact, and we wish Paul and Jo the best in their gaming careers. For all of the ROOT fans, please stick with us through this transition and cheer on compLexity!"

This is a silly theory for various reasons, but I'd like to point out ddoro and drewbie live in canada

There's already multiple Canadians on the Complexity team.

Half of CompLexity is Canadian.... it has nothing to do with that. CompLexity is just an inferior team and KiWi and Slush (the ones who could actually play Starcraft from ROOT) saw that and decided they'd rather go without a team then on a team with less skill. I'm still a CompLexity fan, it's just pretty obvious to me when you look at their roster and see who's on it that they aren't the cream of the crop...

I no longer have anyone to ROOT for... maybe Kiwi will join a European team like Dignitas or Mouz because none of the NA teams look any good anymore.

yeah this is the more logical answer.

also FXO said they are picking up another player, now kiwi and slush are on the market?

That doesn't even make sense. Canadians do not need a visa to enter the States. Both KiwiKaki and SLush have competed in every MLG SC2 tournament...
Thank God and gunrun.

there's at least a DOZEN canadians on complexity's team, including canadians like antimage on their sc2 team - that isn't the problem at all. complexity is a team with 3 head managers with a lot of spending money as well, thus I doubt that's the issue.
