To win:
- Idra: favorite player
- Naniwa: love his attitude
- MMA: amazing player
To FAIL MISERABLY:
- Tyler: thinks he's a genius when actually he's just plain stupid. Can't stand how FUCKING SLOW he talks on STOG and I also HATE how his opinions are always pseudo-intellectual bullshit. Also he BMs almost everyone he loses to on the ladder when losing is his own fault for being awful
- Other koreans: To legitimate the foreign sc2 scene they need to be crushed in a tournament where the lagg excuse is no longer valid (although it won't be enough because people will blame it on jet lag right?)
- Gretorp: he simply doesn't deserve at all being in the top 16 a flawed system has allowed him to stay there but i hope it ends here. He won't probably play anymore on tournaments once he gets erradicated from this mlg

Succeed!
Gretorp - gets too much flack. One of the truly upbeat and pleasant people in the community, like Sheth. Kawaiirice - total boss. Iefnaij - see above.
Fail:
Destiny - meh Catz - meh Drewbie - mehhhh

This is why this was a risky thread to make :/ It's not the smartest thing to call one of the TOP foreigners 'stupid'. He has a very deep knowledge of the game as shown in SotG.. if you get annoyed by his 'slow talking' as you put it, then get a grip and stop nit-picking.
Anyway; to win: IdrA - One of my favourite players DeMuslim - (British pride) Naniwa - So that he goes to GSL
Only three players to choose from is really limiting >.<
To lose:
The Koreans - Simply because I'm biased in that I want the foreigners to do well
|
anyone who roots for someone to lose...ask yourself, why am I attacking this person over the internet I don't even know? they are just starcraft players like you and I.
i feel like the new sc2 masses have 'celebritized' top players and think it's ok to give out their opinion on them without realizing how much of an asshole they're being.

One of the reasons he talks slow is because he is thinking a lot. Not necessarily because he's a wizz kid but more so because he doesn't want to be wrong or seem stupid. He knows how easy it is to make a mistake, he just wants to be very careful and make sure he formulates it to the best of his abilities. Atleast that's what I always think when I notice stuff like speaking slow. The rare case you actually get to see or meet someone that is like professor level smart in a very specific subject, is almost the only time when you will see someone talk incredibly complicated things with the most rediculous fluency and still being 10 sentences ahead. It's just a human thing, don't hate. You seem like an angry individual though and it wouldn't surprise me if there is an external reason for why you put so much emotion behind thinking something like that about someone.

It's not so much the slow-talking, as it is his tendency to extensively and somewhat discursively elaborate his thoughts. But he is by no means stupid, and has a lot of insightful things to say, albeit in a circuitous manner interspersed with looong periods of silence where I swear he just leaves up a .gif and is browsing the internet :b

Tyler is a top sc2 foreigner?

Destiny qualified for IPL2? Good for him. I still don't think he'll be able to do very well in MLG, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
IdrA to win. If not IdrA, then someone from sixjax.
To lose? GreTorp annoys me with his continued seeding. Other than him, i like everyone else in pool play (except maybe slush) and I haven't looked into the open brackets.

Just ask this to yourself then, when you are watching any other sport, you don't root against anyone or any team?

To win:
Idra - awesome Mc - Kratoss needs a comeback Thorzain - Tsl victor must win Mlg! :D
To fail: Sixjax Major - dont like him (nothing against artosis though) Cruncher - i like idra Gretorp - nice guy but i feel he is misplaced in Mlg after being focused on NASL for so long

I think what he is saying is that people seem to live in the past- Tyler was one of the best foreign BW players but he definately isn't one of the best SC2 players now. Let's be honest- he is more famous for what he has done in the past than how good he is in SC2. No matter what the reason is for him to not perform as well in SC2- lack of practice, passion, whatever it is, there are a lot of players out there that are better than him now in SC2 and not as famous. Unless he proves himself again to be a great Starcraft player, the result so far is nothing but an average player.

To win: Demuslim: He's just so baller. Incontrol: Still love him even though he's protoss. Qxc: Really cool guy and super stellar at putting on the aggression. Needs a big win!
To lose: MC: Too confident/arrogant. I love his play but I wish he wasn't full of himself. July: He's scary. Too scary. Naniwa: Doesn't appreciate his victories like he should, imo.
|
Favorites: Sheth to have a good run because he's nice and works hard. IdrA or Huk to beat the other one directly, either way good games and good drama. Tyler to have a good run because it would be nice to see him play to his potential.
To lose: At least a few of the Koreans, only so they take foreigners more seriously in future tournaments. Only MMA seems to have done any serious prep work.
