Just out of curiosity, If you don't mind, can you tell us what exactly was the cause of initial dispute between you and desrow?

I have admittedly never seen his stream and it's rather difficult to tell what kind of personality he has because there are two factions of people describing him almost as he's actually two different people.

People like Desrow don't deserve sponsorship. His attitude is disgusting.

Desrow just bad manners people and yells at viewers trying to help him out on his stream when he's clearly a poor player (given the amount of time he spends on the game).

If Desrow played any race other than protoss he wouldn't get anywhere, his builds are so sloppy and unrefined that his arrogance is unwarranted, disgusting and, frankly, embarrasing.

Any tournament level player would absolutely destroy him, because his basic game mechanics are so offbeat.

No team should want someone like that representing them, which appears to be the case, seeing as he's switching teams every other day.

Wow, you actually come here and writing a book about a person trying to push him down on internet, you don't even now him.

Man, get a hobby other than sitting infront of the computer hating.

I'm "writing a book" because if we, as in the Starcraft community, want eSports to be big, sponsorship is one of the biggest factors in making it a success.

If we want eSports to be big, we need the people that are seen as being "top players" to be great role models, and for the most part, they are.

Current sports superstars that garner bad press are almost instantly stripped of their sponsorships, and are often suspended.

If we want eSports to be big, people like Desrow simply can't last. A foul demeanour is not something anyone wants to see.

And no, sports superstars can be divas and egoists and say stupid thing and still have their sponsors. Just look at fooball/soccer.

What you are doing is that you just hate desRow and you do not think about the "best" for e-sport.

Sports stars in my country get instantly fired, fined, or at least suspended if they do so much as badmouth someone at a bar. There are consequences for their actions, because they are role models.

I don't know of a single sports superstar that wasn't almost instantly shamed for bad behaviour, a prime example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Woods

He is no longer respected or seen as a role model because of his behaviour off the green.

There is a difference between bad behaviour, and a healthy ego.

Many basketball players are famous for having huge egos.
Idra is another good example of this, he may be arrogant, but he has earned the right to be so. He is respected by thousands of people.

There is a difference between an ego and unwarranted arrogance/bad behaviour.

Clearly everything I said went straight over your head. I mean, I understand that social interaction isn't your strong point, but c'mon, you can do better than that.

Pokebunny's post is pretty much spot on.

A few discrepancies, but about 95% accurate.

the problem with "signing" desrow and sending him to a LAN is that you'll have to buy 2 seats on the plane for him

I've been watching his stream a bit from a neutral perspective. While I find his lack of self-conscience and unwarranted cockiness quite annoying I do find him rather entertaining in the same way I find Idra and the likes entertaining. I guess it's the feeling of not knowing what to expect that draws me in these guys' directions because many other streamers are just 'normal, polite, music-playing people' and you always know what you get if you watch their streams.

With desrow you get a little bit of column A and a little of column B. Column A is his well-mannered personality. This is when he's not getting offended in ANY way because if he is he goes into a rampage of foulmouthing. This applies in the chat channel belonging to his channel aswell and he has like a dozen of mods at all times because of his phobia against being flamed. Insinuating in some way that he lacks skill in some way will grant you a ban. But in the case he's 'unharmed' in this manner he seems like a decent, often humorous guy although he tends to flame the opponents he beats (on stream, not ingame) for no apparent reason other than I'd guess self-indulgence. I'm not sure if it's just an act in an attempt to creating his own 'image' in the SC2 community but seeing as he's into the marketing and promotion stuff it's not too far off i'd guess.

Personally I have nothing against him but he's the kind of person that is easy to both like and dislike. He makes himself a victim by being so offendable to all kinds of insults to his persona which is kind of unfortunate because this draws trolls and flamers to him like flies to a pile of manure.

With that said I hope he steps up his game from the quite standard, lackluster protoss play he has at the moment to becoming competitive.

It is true though that whenever there is a thread about him, a lot of people with 1-15 posts seem to write in them nice stuff about him. It's just kinda weird( I noticed weeks ago) but could just be his stream students I guess.

It's because he puts links to the threads in his stream chat, and tells people to go comment. He has a lot of fans that will click the links and post.

He kind of is. When he's calm, he's a very nice guy, but he sure has a temper. If he loses, he sometimes makes comments on the stream about the guy who beat him (nothing horrible or personal, generic raging usually). He also has no tolerance at all for anyone in chat commenting on his play or coaching methods, even when its just a polite suggestion or constructive criticism. Ego, I guess.

But, angry or not, he does have a very high quality entertaining stream. He makes sure there's almost always content on the screen, so if he's eating or taking a short break, he puts a replay on, sometimes with commentary. He also streams a lot of coaching, and whether or not you agree with his aggressive coaching style, any lower level player can learn a lot from it. Even when he's just playing, he still talks pretty often. He does question and answer sessions frequently, and he also just streams so often and for so many hours, that attracts viewers too. I think the points in this paragraph is the main reason he's as popular as he is.

Anyways, congrats on the new team Desrow, and good luck in Anaheim.

Oh my god it's ThomasG. One of the punching bags of EU team at StarsWar Shanghai (the other one was ThorZain). His game vs Lyn was one of the best roflstomps ever. I want to see them duking out a TvT in Sc2.

I am surprised you (RAGE) are signing new players and promising to send then to MLG and Dreamhack when you haven't been "able" to pay off the 90 euros (45 remaining) you owe me since August 2010 due to a shortage of funds.

Upon reading this I expect I will be paid very soon?
