This is awesome news. Mad props to FXO for taking a giant leap for e-Sports.

For those of you negative nellies who think the FXO players aren't "good" enough to represent foreigners on a Korean stage, just think for a moment.

Why are Korean Starcraft players so good? Why have they been so good ever since Broodwar?

It's because ever since Broodwar, they organized into teams that lived together in the same house, practiced all the time, helped each other with strategies, and competed against other teams who were doing the same thing.

(T)BoxeR was the first to figure this out, and he was the one to make it happen and in doing so created the Korean Broodwar scene that is still going today. He knows how this works better than anyone else, which explains why Slayers rose to dominance so quickly in Starcraft 2.

Being a part of a full practicing team is what it takes to compete on the highest level. Look at players like LegalMind who used to be on a team and now are "freelancing". How well are they doing now? Exactly. Being born Korean doesn't magically make you better at Starcraft. Being on a Korean team does.

If FXO lives like the other Korean teams do, and practices like they do, they will become better. They will become competitive.

It will be awesome.

And to re-add whats happening and has been posted in this thread. I am paying for the GSTL triip from my own pocket. Not FXO's. Its too good of an oppportunity to pass up..

That's really amazing. I knew you had a passion for e-sports and SC2 but didn't realise just how far that passion went. I hope you guys continue to do amazing things. All the tournaments and constant growth you push is really inspiring.

Lol it's weird how so many people can have this simply incorrect reaction to the news. Someone does something awesome and you react by comparing their abilities to someone else who is not doing that.

An example: You are in 1969 and see the first images of Buzz Aldrin and the rest of Apollo crew taking the first ever bouncing steps on the surface of the moon and you react by saying "he cannot jump as high as Michael Jordan could" when instead your reaction should have been "HOLY SHIT THEY ARE BOUNCING ON THE FUCKING MOON!!1!"

I say huge props to FXO for taking that step. I hope all the best for you guys in the GSTL. I will definitely be watching your games.

FXO has the money to send a team there. Other foreign teams are dirt poor even though they have good players, so stop whining about you favorite teams not being there.

Can't wait to see FXO in the final of GSTL. It would result in madness in the SC community.

Gratz to FXO. Looking forward to seeing you guys in the GSTL.

How is this announcement a bad thing? Why so much negativity?

If anything, it shows the community that FXO, as sponsors, are willing to provide their players with the greatest opportunity to succeed. Other than TL, what other sponsors have shown this type of initiative? Sure, sponsors are throwing tons and tons of random dollars into tournaments, but what sponsors are actively spending money on trying to improve the skill of their players?

Regardless of how they do in the GSTL, FXO should be applauded, not looked down on or ridiculed.

it's cool how FXO takes the initiative like this and i really think they'll make an impressive figure there

as for the mistery player i tend to think it's NightEnd since team praetoriani is no more.does any1 know if i'm right?

oh and i hope moonglade can solve his problems since he's an important part of the team...not to mention he's and awesome player.

Awesome news, sheth had been hinting at this for a while now! How are we to know how a foreign team will do if a foreign team never goes over and gives it a shot? Good luck FXO!!

Definitely looking forward to watching FXO's games. I have only seen Sheth and qxc before and I have a feeling it will be an uphill battle, but it will be interesting to see how practising in Korea will affect on the players. Recently Naniwa said on sotg that he will be going to Korea at some point to participate on GSL, so maybe adding him and Sase as "mercenaries"? Well at least more interesting matches to watch and best case scenario major foreign presence in Korea is established. FXO fighting!

I love the fact that FXO are taking the initiative to step up to the plate here with the GSTL, but I can't help but feel that they will get absolutely destroyed in the first round. :/
Roll with the punches.
