That's because you are looking at this the wrong way. Awesome teams and players are created and molded. You're thinking they are going their to win it all. I think FXO is doing this to provide their players with valuable training and experience. Yes, they want to win and compete. But this seems more about FXO building a strong contending team from the ground up. By investing in their players and giving them the opportunity to compete against the best and learn what it takes to be at that level.

I'm so happy to hear this! I get why people are dissappointed that the team is FXO, but don't think of it as FXO taking the place of Dignitas, Mouz, or other slightly more popular teams. Think of it instead as an added bonus to what was an already improved GSTL. Now, we are going to be able to see more foreigner games than ever, and a foreign team is going to train (and hopefully get to be amazing) in the same enviornment that has produced the world's best players for over a decade. To me, this is an amazing announcement.

Sheth, Optikzero and moonan (finished top 8 from the open bracket...) all ripped up the open bracket at Dallas, in a very similar manner to Naniwa but sort of flew under the radar, and when you add qxc and hopefully moonglade... well ....people are seriously underrating FXO. SLoG is meant to be decent too, although I am yet to see much of him yet. Regardless, this is very exciting for the foreign community and I will proudly support them for competing on the highest level.

Its cool Boss wants to see where his team rates vs Korean's but with all the cash he has to kick around he should really try to get something going in NA or EU. Throw up some cash for the NASTL or something, I like watching GSTL more then GSL, would be cool to have a team league for foreigners.

How good of a player Wolf is? Wouldn't thought he is that good to be listed in line-up

dNaniwa
dSelect
dSjow

mMorrow

FXOSheth

or something like that.... there's just no way FXO does anything, the only person I could see taking any games off anyone is Sheth, and I honestly think FXO will finish 0 - 10 unfortunately.

I think this will actually hurt the korean - foreign exchange scene, as if FXO has a bad show, Gom will probably be less likely to just seed in foreign teams into the GSTL in the future.

You're missing the point. This isn't about fielding a foreigner all-star team to go and challenge the top Koreans. This is about one team, with its own finances, making its own decision to go and compete in the GSTL to improve their play.

I don't see how them losing would turn away GomTV, either. Gom has been really active with opening things up to foreigner participation. The house is already provided and hasn't been used to its full capacity. Apart from that, FXO is paying for everything themselves, and Gom stands to attract a lot of viewers by having a foreign team playing.

Ya, you could be right. I suppose whatever happens, it'll at least attract some foreign fans. And after reading Sheth's post, I suppose I have to commend FXO for doing this at a time that nobody else would. Hopefully they do start a pattern here.

OMG THIS IS AWESOME!

I am super happy for the team FXO. They are a great team with a cool lineup. I hope QXC is in tiptop shape to play because he has so much potential. Of course with school it's hard to keep up but this shenanigan is OVER .

Sheth is also a god and I'm sure he'll do well.

Cool stuff.
Try another route paperboy.

NA is already over saturated, its almost impossible to schedule things properly for that community without stepping on a million ppls toes.

EU I have staff in Russia slowly arranging that. Without knowing what FXO is actually doing, its kinda silly to comment, we have about 12 e-sports projects at the moment which are being prepared behind the scenes. You never know, your wish can come true.

And to re-add whats happening and has been posted in this thread. I am paying for the GSTL triip from my own pocket. Not FXO's. Its too good of an oppportunity to pass up..

Wish them the best of luck. Awesome to see the commitment! They really have to step it up a notch though, not sure even that will be enough. I'll still be rooting for you guys

Lol the TL community at its best - discouraging a potentially great opportunity for western esports through its negativity.

Wow a very gutsy and decisive move by FXO. I hope you guys do well or at least significantly improve from this experience. I love how the boss of FXO is so passionate about esports. If I had the money, I would do the same thing. Good luck guys!!

It's a shame that it's team FXO that is competing and not "team foreigner".
Hopefully it will operate in a similar way though with foreign players who go to Korea competing alongside the FXO guys.

I really don't like this idea of a 'World Team' being thrown around. It totally defeats the purpose of a team league and in general I am against forming teams with 'the rest' or a group that is together just for the one event. Leave that kind of thing to one-off showmatches.

It would be unfair to the Korean players who have to put in the effort on a team and play for each other and then some all-stars team comes along just because they are foreigners. Not to mention any sponsor issues faced when there's a team with players from 8 different sponsored teams, or the effect on team loyalty, which is a driving force in esports.

Knew it was FXO since Sheth was hinting at an announcement. Honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed by their player roster but I hope they at least play some good games. I have to admit, my interest in GSTL has increased.
