=S I used to have ladder fear... till i hit a 14 loss streak ytd, lost the entire day. Now, i dont really care anymore cause my record is alrdy shit. Haha guess it was a blessing in disguise =p.
I think most pple just need to know that their profile isnt everything and just enjoy the game for what it is. Im in 600 masters league right now.
Oh, the only reason i even continued playing after 14 losses was because i was 2 wins away from my infestor portrait =X which brings me to my next point. Goal setting
I think having a goal you set yourself to will push you to overcome ladder fear. Direct goals like i want to win my games with good creep spread, or learning a new strat will help soften the blow to the losses you get.
Just my 2 cents as i just broke my 14 loss streak!!!! T_T

I had (still kinda have) a hugh fear of ladder, my way of dealing with it has latley been to NOT have the goal "Get promoted to X" and instead try to have the bonuspool no higher then 1, been working good, have had more fun on the ladder and accualy been winning more then when i was really trying (to hard)

Yeah, although I think ladder fear is real, that solution is just wrong. I don't think people have a fear of messing up their win/loss ratio so much as just a fear of high stress competitive play. But anyway, that's something I'm trying to get over right now. I've had SC2 since it released and I JUST finally played my placement matches all the way through. Here's hoping I can continue to ladder til I get past the fear.

'Ladder fear' is pathetic. Just play the game if you enjoy it, dont play it otherwise. Your ranking / rating / points are just numbers on the screen. It doesn't hinder anything, it needs no solution.

My friend has ladder fear, he bought a whole new account after getting diamond as zerg to play terran.....
I think it's fairly common to be nervous to play in leagues that you got promoted to recently after havin not played for a few days, you don't want to lose it.
