Most my SC2 friends don't even play the game because they are too scared of ladder (they follow the pro scene though). Blizzard seriously needs to implement unranked auto-matchmaking.

Or sometimes I'll win one game and then stop beacuse I don't want to lose I know losing is part of getting better, but for some reason I just can't make myself ladder TT

For all you players under platinum: If you can beat the very hard AI every game without gimmicky stuff, you will do very well on the ladder. I'd recommend honing your skills against the AI.

I don't understand people that like to post things like that. What exactly are you trying to do? Help the OP? I doubt calling him "weak" is a good way to get your point across. Are you seriously trying to tell me that there is nothing in this world that doesn't make you nervous? It doesn't matter if it's important or not, that's relative. I, for instance, have zero issues with public speaking. I'll get up infront of 80+ VIP people at work and talk to them. But the majority of people I know would rather die than do that. Do I think they are weak? of course not. I instead try to help them by figuring out which part of public speaking makes them nervous. Be helpful people or refrain from taking up database space that's more expensive than the content of your post.

The demand to play and improve has to be greater than the fear of a loss. The best way to fight "ladder fear" is simply to be an example, don't troll, and always say gg gl hf. Some of the best advice I ever got about dealing with "ladder fear" was to casually talk with my opponent, which really does lighten the hurt of a loss.

It's like people not playing COD because they're afraid their kill/death will go down. Personally I'm not scared of laddering anymore after I realized that the numbers don't mean anything. No one's keeping track of my numbers except me I guess.

IMO K/D and W/L are a really big deal in any game, but since Blizzard took out the losses from lower leagues, there's no excuse for being scared of playing. :p And if one really wants to keep its W/L record, just get a smurf account.

Basically it comes down to: Starcraft 2 is a a fast paced game of decision making, mechanics, and reaction time. Therefore go back to playing WoW where you can lay back in your chair, while you spam 1, 3, 5, 1, 3, 5, 1, 3, 5, 1, 3, 5, 1, 3, 5, 1, 3, 5, 1, 3, 5.... Oh wait I forgot, you use the mouse to click on your spells. But seriously, if your "afraid" of laddering, thats equivalent to being "afraid" to try out for the NFL. Make a decision, do you want to play seriously or do you just want to relax while having fun.

), except 4on4 and 3on3 random and so they cant play and have a diamond ranking in 4on4 and think they are masters of the game, and this is acutally a big gap in casual-scene..Vote for practice Game Mode ^^
