Bracket/Pool/Format updates are coming soon. I'll let League Ops folks publish those before I talk about them. Should be released very soon.
Edit: To be clear, Championship Pool sizes get increased, but stay tuned for official release.

Great news, so exciting!
I just hope the stream will be enjoyable at Columbus.

I was on the fence about going to MLG or not (I live in Columbus) but since Bomber and MMA will be there I simply cannot pass up the chance to see those two play live.

Absolutely incredible news!! Totally blew my mind.
I just hope the stream issues are fixed this time, I mean.. third time lucky right?
I actually have a question along the lines of one already brought up regarding Code S.
1) How will they seed the person into Code S, when up and downs have already been played etc?
2) What will happen to the foreigners after their one month is up in Korea? It's entirely reasonable that they might not want to stay in Korea. Won't this create alot of variance in players coming and leaving Code S? I think Code S loses alot of it's true meaning when players are constantly being changed. (Just look at SC1 Code S for how it should really be)
It'll really suck if we just see alot of foreigners dipping in and out of Code S, I hope some of them do well and decide to stay. But if they really wanted to try it out in GSL wouldn't they have done it already regardless of the costs? Also a month is a long time and they will be missing alot of world wide tournaments.
It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

Truely the next step. Was hoping for something like this. Bomber will tear up the place.

Lee, I'm sure you and a lot of other unsung folks put tons of time into making this happen, so I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks a lot :-)

Assuming foreigners get 1 month in korea and seeding into code A, I think the prize pool has been up-ed by a shit ton.
Koreans have a shot at code-S - probably the most prestigious status in the korean sc2 scene. Also, the trip is free for them and they get to meet/make more foreigner fans.
Don't see anything wrong with the prize-pool here...
Only losers are those less-mid-grade foreigner competition, who will have even less of a shot now.

<3 Yes, very much this.
This makes going as a spectator that much more enticing... hmmm

It would suck if Select got 2nd place and didn't get to play in GSL because he's Korean.
|
bomber sick will be suprised if he doesn't rape the tourny

holy epic!!! LOSIRA! MMA! Good god, I need columbus tix asap.

Good for Moon, he is not in Code S right?
Is he even Code A?

I cannot explain this feeling... it's tinteling all over. I'm going to quit smoking and put the money towards HD passes. Dayum this is just the coolest, koreans vs the west and westerns vs the koreans. Such a blast to watch and whoever is gonna get stomped will come back stronger the next time.
The only thing I'm not sure about is how you can insert people into the GSL format. The MLG one was explained well but for GSL it just says Code S. But the format only works with a set number of participants if I'm not mistaken. Let's say a foreigner gets it. That is huge because he goes Code S Ro32, Up & Down, Code A at the very least should he lose everything, thats a lot of matches But for Code S. Are more players gonna drop? Will there be a group that has 5 players? and then what happens when the system continues to rotate. Will there be more in the Up and Down etc? I don't know, just some questions that came up, I'm sure they already have a good plan and I'll just wait until it gets unveiled if I still don't understand by that time.

why does every international tournament invite FOXMoon? May be that he was the greatest WC3 pro, but in SC2 he really hasnt shown anything special at all..
nevertheless otherwise great news of course
|
So, if you want to play in the GSL you shouldn't live in Korea You'll have an easier time getting in by attending MLG than actually playing the qualifiers. That's kinda silly

He failed to qualify for Code A for GSL May. I believe he got knocked out in the final round of the qualifier.
