What if all 4 Koreans place Top 4, and are subsequently seeded into Champs bracket for the next MLG event. Will you be inviting a new set of 4 players? Really doubt they would sponsor for all previously seeded players, the costs could become astronomical. MLG seeds aren't erased but participation is optional so they'd have to get sponsoring from elsewhere if they want to return next mlg without being eligible through gsl.

GSL already rents a house for foreigners. MLG would have to pay for hotel accommodations. So MLG ends up spending more.

Please be not kidding.. that would be sooo awesome :D
Koreans get MLG points do if they do well, don't they? So there is the possibility that there wil be more then 1 Korean in Pool play in the events after Columbus? Are the korean invites going to be handpicked or is there going to be a rule who to pick for following events?
I don't think Koreans should be invited to national championships, they have the chance to qualify in the events before like every one else, only MLG points should count there. Or was I mistaken and there are no invites for national championships?

MLG doing its best to steal the DecorahEagles stream viewer-base.

He's not. Sundance confirmed soundproof booths are coming a while back on Twitter. Also, the spectator experience mentions you'll be able to hear commentators from the live floor at the event.
EDIT: My bad, not Sundance, it was Lee.

Its probably about even.. except maybe the location of MLGs is cheaper than the rent price in Korea. You can't ignore the cost of that apartment rental, which clearly was the foundation for things like this exchange program.

Is this for real? Shit, thats just so awesome <33 This will push both MLG and GSL I think, foreigners going to Korea and Koreans coming to MLG. Pretty good job there, sir!

mma losira bomber are future gsl champs. nice picks, though i would rather they picked maybe july instead of moon but its ok

Calling this Huge and Amazing would be understatements.
Thank You Gom. Thank You MLG.
Revolution. Will be an amazing year for esports.
I also love the choices of players. I hope in the future they pick from those few players who you know/think could be or should be in Code A or Code S that just can't get past the hump of the prelims or are always given the hard roads(ie leenock)

Check the format rules here: http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/news/starcraft-2-pro-circuit-competition-format-changes
GSL players part of the LXP always seed into the 16-20 (and this seeding is done by their GSL rank points), regardless of MLG rank points.
If a GSL pro who has rank points comes on their own (not part of the LXP), then they would seed according to their MLG rank points.
MLG and GSL are only covering travel and accommodations for the players in the LXP for that event. Subsequent events (if a player is not invited) are on their own costs. So the team would have to cover it if they aren't invited again.
We hope to have a large variety of players in the exchange program to give the most number of players the experience. It is truly an EXCHANGE program, so the point is to give the broadest number of players the chance to experience competition overseas. That said, you have to earn your spot :D
Hope that clears it up some!

Whoever came up with this idea and saw it thru needs 7 promotions. Who was it?

holy crap! awesome win win situation!

holy crap this is awesome. will wait to see if the automatic placements into code s will backfire or not (ie MLG winners consistently going 0-2 in ro32 or something), but it's an amazing initiative.

This is pretty epic, can't wait!
