Ukraine has dimaga. That alone should say enough.

But sweden comes at a honourable and close second.

Probably the US, not because it has the best players, but because it has the largest population of the sc2 playing nations. You have to consider that IdrA can probably take out any non-US player, and there's plenty of other decent-ish US players to back him up.

In terms of player-skill per population, it's definately Sweden and Ukraine. Germany has to be fairly close after.

What does population size have to do with anything? USA has less players performing than Ukraine and Sweden. Idra can most certainly not beat any non-US player, in fact, his toughest opponents are non-us players (WhiteRa, Jinro, Naniwa to name a few).

Sweden:
thorzain, naniwa, jinro, morrow, sjow, bischu, lalush, jimpo and many many many other very good players.

Canada
huk, kiwikaki, tt1 ("teeteewon" - whitera), fenix, dde, slush, stalife mabye

North America/Germany.
NA: Idra, moonan, sheth, tyler, kawaiirice, gositerran, etc..
Ger: TLO, hasuobs, socke, goody, darkforce, inso, mondi etc

Ukraine:
Whitera, kas, dimaga, strelok (, underdark, ukrainestar)

The most noticeable foreign coutries. France and poland also not bad, but not that good

A nice thought, but none of those players match up to the likes of Thorzain, Jinro, Morrow, Naniwa etc

So yeah I'm saying Sweden, then Ukraine, then Germany, then Canada.
good luck have batman

Sweden for sure is leading the pack.

Ukraine and Germany takes second.

Then i would say USA maybe?

I'm sad that nobody mentioned Poland with MaNa, Tarson, Nerchio, Diestar, Tefel, Slider, ParanOid, Dreiven but probably i'm just biased ^^

Change the OP to best: Terran/Protoss/Zerg team.

Sweden: SjoW / Naniwa / Morrow

Ukraine: Kas / WhiteRa / Dimaga

Germany: Goody / HasuObs / Darkforce

France: Adelscott / ? / Moman

Canada (Root lol): Drewbie / Kiwikaki / Slush

USA: SeleCT (Qxc? if you don't count select) / Incontrol / IdrA

Anyone else?

I would love to see a StarCraft II World Cup, would be so much fun to see players from different teams come together in support of their own country. USA would have Coach Tosis though :D

I think people tend to underestimate USA players, but still Sweden and Ukraine would dominate any format. In regards to France's team, Adelescott and Stephano are the only two that come to mind as internationally known players.

Probably
To be completely honest i would say Ukraine and not sweden.
Sweden is good but as of late it only seems to be naniwa performing as jinro has been hitting tough times

While Kas White-ra and Dimaga are all performing
here comes the swarm

Taiwan has to be mentioned, they haven't been in too many tournaments but they have their own televised league and Sen. That has to count for something, plus they have a few impressive players in StarsWar.

Population size has quite a lot to do with it. If you were to play USA vs Sweden and keep going until one team can no longer field a decent player I'd be willing to bet that Sweden would run out of players before the USA. Sure, Sweden can probably field a better 4-5 player team, but if you kept throwing the USA GM players at them they'd eventually lose because beyond the top few players it's hard to name anybody capable of winning games at that level.

It's like comparing something like USA vs Jamaica in athletics. Sure, Jamaica has the biggest superstar with Usain Bolt, but the USA has such a huge number of medal winning athletes that you just have to say that they have a better lineup overall.

Of course it's all opinion and down to how you want to set restrictions. I'm simply saying that in terms of numbers of players capable of winning games, USA probably has more. If you're looking for the best 4-person team, it could be different.
