That transparency argument doesn't hold water with me either. iNc and EG don't need to let us know all the details, but keeping shit quiet about sponsorship of shows is not cool. In iNc's (or whoever it was) Seahawk analogy was extremely flawed. Personal details of sports players are front page news on ESPN and NFL networks. Money sponsorship details are disclosed and regulated by the government. This shit should not be kept silent.

On a semi-related NASL note, Xeris does it too. ^^ Well, from what I could tell through the lag (someone correct me if I'm wrong) no one told Wheat about the whole sponsor thing, so him calling it a conspiracy wasn't him lying because he really didn't know...but Scoots knew. Then Alex went on a rant about how great Scoots is, how much he does for EG, and that if you're still upset not to bother Scoots and to message Alex about it instead. I'm sure Scoots regrets calling people conspiracy theorists after all this got out, so whatever, no need to message anyone about it IMO.

I disagree, things like this will set precedents (sp?) for how teams communicate with fans in the future.. it's was a worthy show topic and worth the discussion I agree 100%. If no one ever gets called on anything then everyone operates with impunity. You can say blah blah, it's only esports or only 4000 people or only Starcraft, but this is decent money and people's time and goodwill. People are inherently good (IMO, I guess) but things need to stay somewhat open.

If comparisons are to be done then compare it to the Day9 Daily not SotG. They really shouldn't have mixed in all this drama with it but I understand djWHEAT is very passionate about the topic and wanted to address it asap. If anything, onemoregame.TV's equivalent to SOTG would be LO3, but it's still not the same as SOTG as it covers ESPORTS in general (NO FLUFF) as opposed to just SC2. And it's been around for a longer time. It's so sad to see so much drama surrounding my favorite shows. Absolutely love SOTG, ITG, LO3 and WoC. Such a big fan of JP, djWHEAT and all the people involved in these projects/shows.

Soon we will see team representetives, have a question ask our rep... news about the team ask our rep.... wanna meet one of our star players, set it up with our rep for at the next autograph session. This community is gonna drive the players further and further away, with their cry baby bullshit. Why should Geoff have to explain the reasons for him deciding to leave a show, or a league to a bunch of 13 year old morons is idiotic. I got a new job last week, I talked about it with my wife and kids, make sure they we're ok with it. I didn't have to explain it to my friends, or my kids friends... it's none of their damn buisness! Just like this isn't any of ours. Do whats best for you Geoff, SotG didn't make you, it was you, Greg, Tyler and Sean that made that show. Where would SotG be without you four? You guys brought the viewers which was proven with Greg's little bet and because of all those viewers sponsors were interested. p

So your post was basically ridiculous.

As far as I know any buisness trying to make money does not like to have the spotlight pointed at them in a negative way. The community is creating a mountain out of an anthole when in reality it is buisnesses making buisness decisions.

It's really not our business, Its the great players that bring in the numbers, no matter where the money is coming from., IMHO+ Show Spoiler + I would much rather watch djWHEAT on ITG. I like JP, but to me its seems like he cares more about the drama of the situation, then the game. On the other hand djWHEAT is trying to get inside the players heads and figure out the game as they know it... thats my 2 cents

Closer to the truth but still utterly useless. I wonder if JP will ever give his rendition. I'm not sure if it fits with his personality. He's a little more passive-aggressive than confrontational. =)

It's something nice to have but likely to leave a bad aftertaste for everyone. As the quote goes.."Shit just got real."

You sound a bit hostile to EG, so I guess you've had a few bad experiences with them to doubt them. I get the EGMCS/TL issue, which really sucked. I guess there is more. Anyway, jlake already confirmed a big part of it. Maybe JP will comment on it after Alex, iNcontroL and him talk. I don't think that should be a public conversation though.

That presumes that the community has any legitimate interest in hearing all the details of all this. I'd argue they do not, and that the matter is between JP, the people on JP's show, their teams, and their sponsors. If JP wants to make a comment in response, though, and figures he can do so in a way that's consistent with his interests and preserving the relationships he has to preserve, he has multiple ways to do that with pretty much the same audience. Edit: Just to be clear, I am not asking for a response. I have loved watching SOTG and support JP as much as anyone. Just feels like all the craziness over this matter is completely overblown.

Closer to the truth but still utterly useless. This is what I don't get. There is only one person that has all sides of the story, knows the details of both deals, and should know what the hell actually happened. Since both sides already decided to come forward, it would not be a case about JP talking about something the teams don't want him to talk about, so, does he just not want to get involved in this mess or is there another reason for the person with best viewpoint on the whole situation not saying anything so far? I can't blame him either way, but as much as one side can seem reasonable and truthfull, it's hard to really know if there's no bias.

In which case, EG should not have discussed it in public.
