I thought we pretty much cleared this up with the idea that both sides are right, since they both have their own interests. And both sides should work together when possible and not be shocked when the other side gets pissed if they get burned. Is there anything else? Nah, just new people arguing the same shit which was argued 8 pages earlier. I still feel this is inherently a private issue which was made public with no benefit. Essentially we, the content devouring masses, are debating an issue which is only of relevance to the people involved in protecting and reporting the information. You feed us, we eat. And we're very hungry. It's kind of a bad joke. And unless it leads to Alex v Rod in a steel cage match at the first MLG event of 2013, then i feel like we've wasted a lot of time here.

These teams are businesses and should behave like businesses, not rely on people outside their organization giving handouts or being kind to them. Isn't that really the end of the discussion?

Yeah that's just the only conclusion I could make from this discussion.

My opinion is that Slasher needs to hold himself to a higher standard than just lazy leak reporting. The fact that is possibly broke NDAs just further worsens the issue. Also I don't know why people are calling this a gang up when the players and Wheat barely spoke. I guess it's just the typical EG-hating circlejerkers. players and a team manager talking about what a journalist should do and questioning him about his actions..... woooooow my mind is blown and i laughed my ass off watching this. wow, just wow. most ridiculous thing i ever saw. and alex garfield.... im not even gonna go there. yeah kid, you tell the world whats journalism and whats not. who the fuck is he.... So somehow one of the leaders in the industry can't fucking say his opinion? Dude's 27 and owns the richest team in SC2. Look, kid, being condescending doesn't make you look smart.

The only reason Alex got to so emotional is because he's pouring everything into the scene while Rod is being a bloodsucker sucking all the hype out of announcements for personal gain. There's really no simpler way to put it. There's absolutely no reason to defend Rod - if his defense is, "That's what journalists do" then Alex has every right to write him off and boycott his team talking to him.

He's giving us the news, it benefits us at least i find it to be good. That a team can't get x amounts of clicks on their news article or video because one of their own leaked it it's their problem.. Btw theres no statistics saying that a news article get LESS clicks because it's already been leaked in before hand. Hype is often uncalled for but if the teams/originations actually did a good job on the hype article there will still be hype.

As far as I understood it (I believe Alex Garfield mentioned it) Slasher got the information about Jaedong from a source at IPL when EG submitted their roster and/or replays for IPTL.

What Slasher does since I dunno how long aside from normal interviews/reports is posting news from information he acquired himself or from some other insider... That’s kinda what he does and always did? Slasher does exactly that and suddenly people are questioning his moral standards because... uhm...? Hurting E-Sports? Are you kidding?

Well are you surprised? EG is starting a bandwagon against Slasher because he doesn't want to be a publisher instead of a journalist. Thats my take on it as well as others.
